New Fire Conversion Spell

Most of you out there find the skill of firemaking rather boring and useless except for cooking which a range can substitute for. And the ones who have come to be excellent pyros and train on firemaking frequently would enjoy for something new and maybe priveleges for having high firmaking. I've developed a feasible spell that can do just this and be the first update for firemaking in Runescape.

This magic spell would be a conversion spell and require 1 nature and 1 fire rune. A nature rune of course because it's the 'conversion rune' and a fire rune because this spell will be cast on a fire. The magic level needed to cast the spell would be fairly low, maybe 20's or 30's. That would be up to Jagex if this were implemented.

This spell would alter the color of a fire to a different color of your choosing. You would do this by first creating a fire (or finding one already made). Next you would click on the 'Fire Conversion' spell. Then the 'Choose Target' text would show up in the top left corner of your screen. The only target the spell will have effect on is a fire, so you would then click on the fire. Next aqua text will appear in the top left corner of your screen. It will be a list of the following colors: Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, White, Black. You would then choose one of the colors (click on it) and the color of the fire you have targeted will become that color.

With this you will be able to put on a marvelous display of fires even when your training. Just bring a fire staff and a bunch of nature runes and you're all set. TheSmile.gif Yet of course there's got to be some firemaking skill involved for this. So now you need a certain firemaking level for each color (similar to the Superheat Item spell). This way experienced pyros can show off their skill. TheSmile.gif Here's a list of each color with the reuired level:

Yellow - Level 1
Red - Level 20
Blue - Level 40
Green - Level 50
White - Level 60
Black - Level 70

The color red is available if you want to change the color of a fire whose color has already been changed back to red. Fires are originally the color red though, so anyone can make one red. The intervals get smaller and smaller because the higher you are, the harder it is to gain levels.

*************************************************************

And that's it. This idea came to mind mainly because of my own love for firemaking. TheSmile.gif I made it involve a spell though so that it would be feasible and go along with the 'medieval atmosphere'. It would be great if a member could post this in the Runescape Forums (since I unfortunately am not one myself). I'm sure other SeeD pyros would like to see a firemaking update. bigcheek.gif

w00t i can make white fires bluetongue.gif only suggestion is to switch red with yellow, because original rs fires are yellow and it takes no skill to make them. so red should be lvl 20 and yellow lvl 1.

Hehe, that's a pretty interesting idea. I like it! biglaugh.gif

This would also make fireart a bit more enjoyable, you could change the colors.

If we have some more people post their thoughts and ideas, we should even send it into Jagex!

Yeah, it is pretty useless. bluetongue.gif Someone in Rune Village suggested that colored fires decreased someone's chance of burning food on that fire. So if you cook food on a black fire there is a very low chance you'll burn it; you get the idea. Things like 25% decrease chance of burning, 50%, etc..

Just something to make the skill more fun. TheSmile.gif

Whee, I could make any fire! bluetongue.gif

Sounds fun, and it would make me proud of my 70 firemaking. TheSmile.gif
