In the recent debate regarding Abortions, I was greatly annoyed by the fact that a great number of people ignored information previously presented, simply to state their opinion without even reading the posts others made in the topic. Specifically, the issue of children conceived by rape was addressed on numerous occasions. However, certain pro-choice individuals chose to ignore all previous posts in the topic, and ask a question that had already been asked and answered. I'm not against further debate of a previously answered question, but asking the exact same question is what I have a problem with.

From now on, in all current and future debates, I'm going to have to ask everyone to read all the posts in the topic before you join a debate here. If you do so, it is often likely that your question may already have been answered. That being the case, I would like to request that everyone read the topic to find out what has already been discussed before jumping into the middle of a debate. Compliance with this regulation is much appreciated, and will improve the overall quality of the debates we are able to have in this forum.

I suppose many of us post the same things twice, mainly because of the people who didn't read about it before. Because they haven't, (at least this is what i do) i restate the issue so that they do.

I think the easiest solution (for all you people who do this along with me) would be to simply link to the page that your post was on. That way, you won't be saying it again, and they will still listen.

edit: (response to sh1zza's post): same here, i'll do my best...

Yes, reading all of the posts would be very helpful in debates. Its ok if people slip every once in a while, but it is happening far too often (I'm probably doing it too...). Also please make posts readable *glares at govea*and no flamming of course. Try to be knowledgable on the subject, too. It really helps when trying to get a point across if people can read and comprehend it. My two cents. grnwink.gif

Most of you are completely missing my point. I don't have anything against people expressing their views on a previously discussed topic in a debate. What I have a problem with is people asking questions that have already been asked as if they haven't been asked. Now do you people understand where I'm coming from on this? Just read the entirety of the topic before you jump into the debate guns blazing.

1.) Dead topic.
2.) This isn't the debate for abortions.
3.) That comment really isn't needed.
