yup ticktock, I doubt Killer when he says he is going to dissect a cat...it is actually quite a common thing to look at anatomically, as are fetal pigs biglaugh.gif. I never did that in my anatomy class last year...we looked at rats mostly, as well as a few sheep brains, and cow eyes.

We did cow eyes in 3rd grade when we were studying the human eye. Except some adults volunteered to come in and do the actual dissection.

www.howstuffworks.com thats a good site...I dunno if you have everything you need yet, but I wouldn't be suprised if you found it there. its a pretty good site. I wouldn't know what to say on the topoic that hasn't been said, im more about animals myself(though plants may be animals, I dont know, maybe it depends on if they have a chemicaly based central nervous system...quorum sencing research hasn't come that far yet-thats cell to cell comunication using chemical signals, instead of electric impulses or sometin like that).

Sorry. I found out that I made a mistake about the cow eye thing. My sister has just reached the grade for the cow eye dissection, and I've found out that I did the dissection in

2nd grade. biglaugh.gif

So I was wrong about the bases... Thats was 3 years ago, min you. bluetongue.gif

We disected a pregnant sand shark once. Thats it, I never did disect anything... ever. I skipped Biology. Unfortunately, at an IEP meating I found out that colleges want you to take it. Poop, I hate Bio. Chem is sooooooo much better. That reminds me. One of my friends somehow got a container of silver nitrate and splashed one of my other friends in the back of his neck. Lol (silver nitrate will turn your skin black for a month bluetongue.gif) So funny. Wow, I can't belive how off topic I can get. This paragraph started with a pregnant shark and ends with silver nitrate. I am weird. I'm still typing for some reason. I think I'll stop now. No, wait... Now.

Lolz! Meh, if he's black, it wouldn't be so bad. If it were on me, it would be bad. I'm like a dark tan. If it happened to a Caucasian, people would have to start wondering if the kid was white or black. Lol, imagine if that happened in the times of the Jim Crow laws. And the stuff covers half your body vertically. It's like, which water fountain should I drink from, which school should I go to? Bad times man, bad times...

Alkalinity is anywhere on the pH scale above 7. You call that basic or alkaline.
Acidity is anywhere on the scale below 7. Thats Acidic or acid.

High acidity or high alkalinity disrupts nutrients from being absorbed. And enzymes may be effected too.

Most plants can live in soil with up to a 10 pH. It may not effect them. Acidity is what you should watch out for. With as little as a 6 pH, plants may no longer absorb the nutrients needed. Only acid-loving plants like blueberry and rhododendon.

So the plant dies... If you need anymore details, or need to know how an acid pH contributes to early eutrophication, just ask. TheSmile.gif
