Fun to... THROW?! eek7.gif

icky! I depise most insects, including Cspace, but Cicadas must be just nasty.

I already got 7 mosquito bites and I haven't seen even 1 of the buggers. Bad sign.. this means that this year will be mosquitofull.

We get terrible ammounts of Grass(***)Hoppers on the praries. Eventually, teh locusts show up, but not until July. Last year, They COMPLETELY covered the wall of the mall.. I don't know why they did it.. or even wish to know why they did it... but they did...

Well... Actually the exoskeletons of the cicadas give dogs constipation, and the insides give dierrhea. screama.gif

Wouldn't the two effects cancel each other out?

Well that or sudden explosive bursts.

Wow, now I'm freaking myself out eek7.gif

Since it's winter here, spared even the mosquitos and flies that usually inhabit the area during a sizeable part of the year.

There is a large swarm in Princeton (about 20-40 minutes north of me) I think it would make sense that they'd make it around where I am, right?

Ahh I want them to come

I've killed 69 mosquitos in my house this week. I even tallied them up on a chart.
Anyway. Cicadas are anual things where I live, aren't they the same everywhere?
HI! I'M BACK SPORADICALLY! Nobody probably remembers me :(

Muler, I live 20-40 mins. away from Princeton, too! My bro goes to Lawrenceville for private school, and he says that Princeton is teeming with cicadas. Where I live, I haven't seen one cicada.
As for mosquitos, due to the fact that after a good rain, my backyard turns into a marsh, I'll be livin' in them soon enough

I'm bored so I'll tell you about our non-cicidas.

We get Oak Moths here. They're tiny - you could cover one with a quarter - and quiet unless they're throwing themselves against lightbulbs. When they swarm every... few years (though they've been here the last two in a row, strangely), they're EVERYWHERE! It's pretty cool though; in the daylight they look like butterflies. Big clouds of tiny white butterflies. Yeah.

The downside is they nest everywhere. You know how most moths and butterflies make cocoons on leaves? Well, the oak moths find stucco very appealing.

Our apartment building is stucco.

Since it's been almost a year since they were here last, most of the rotted cocoons are gone, but one of the walls downstairs has a bunch still. Maybe I'll get a picture... nah.
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

Double-post...

"Zits" (the comic strip) for June 14 mentions Cicidas bluetongue.gif
