Here's my f2p fishing guide, if any newbies wants the best way to level up in fishing:

When you start off fishing, go to karamja. You can take the boat to Karamja from Port Sarim. Be sure you have a net in your inventory, if not, buy it at the fishing store, which is also in Port Sarim. When you arrive at Karamja, simply follow the road, and you should come to a dock. There should be some bubbles or something in the water. Net them. Keep doing this till you reach level 5. NOTE: Cook everything you catch, this way your cooking level will go up fast. Go back to the fishing store, then buy a fishing rod and some bait(if you don't wanna use much money on buying bait, zombies and men drop fishing bait often). Go back to Karamja, but now, instead of netting, use the "bait" option instead. Keep doing this until you reach level 20. Go back to Port Sarim and buy fly fishing rod, and some feathers. If you don't wanna spend all your money on feathers, chicken drop 3 feathers every time(or almost every time). Go to the Barbarian's Village. If you don't know where that is, go north from Port Sarim trough Falador. Go east when you come to the fork in the path. Go east until you reach Barbarian's Village. A little east of Barbarian's Village, there is an exellent place for fly fishing. Fly fish until you reach level 35. I would recommend to wait till about level 38. Go back to Port Sarim, and buy a harpoon. Go to Karamja. Select the option "harpoon". Keep doing this until you reach level 40-45. Go back to Port Sarim, and buy a lobster pot. Now select the "cage" option instead. If you cook lobsters and exchange them to certificates,(can be done in Draynor Village east of Port Sarim) then sell them to people, you will end up very rich!!! Oh, when you reach level 50, you can go back to harpooning, because you can catch swordfish. Good fishing!!!
