Just as some strange, blue energies seep into the meditating gnoll's body, the attacks hit, and he spits out a blue liquid, unique from his blood, coughs, then tears into shreds. This violent death terrifies the rest of the gnolls. One grunt runs off down the cave.

The remaining grunt realises he's almost alone, but still slashes at Vesper for 30 damage! The chieftan then does another call, healing him up.
