About Last Night's Drama: Anyone who has been here for a long time knows that I almost never jump on anyone like that for what doesn't happen here, but I got the impression that there was a real threat here at that moment (and since everything added up) I took action to protect the community and our members. Same name, keyloggers posted by Jamesbondman, that community is full of hackers, and I got a similar story from two SeeDs about the situation.
I took action immediately because a possible threat of that type requires "act first, think later" (or the community as a whole can be compromised). You probably understand so I won't go on with that.
Once action was taken I investigated it and found that it was a false alarm. Both members had their suspensions removed immediately... After they were relentlessly chastised and conspiracy theories were spread around against leaders and a fake "new Gunblade". I don't know why some can't hold in emotions which would hurt members, even when I said that there was a chance of a mistake (regardless of whether it was true or not it was not necessary AT ALL directed at anyone on either side).
THINK next time you consider posting an insult. Please, just think of how you would feel if someone did the exact same thing to you in their situation...
"Censorship": We promote free speech and want everyone to speak their minds. That is the basis for our community! That means you can speak your mind about just about any clean subject.
Many have been complaining, though, about censorship over insults. We allow anything to be posted as long as it won't hurt any of our members.
Saying something to the effect of "Oh you're just a piece of dung" does not have to be allowed here and I will not have the moderators put down for trying to handle posts like that. The last thing we want is for them to stop moderating and start allowing these insults... This place is going down the tubes the instant that happens.
Trust me, just go to other communities and look at what happens when they are loose on that. They aren't all bad there are very few communities like ours which are of any size. Do we want to be average or do we want to strive for members to enjoy our community to the largest possible extent? Fighting and put-downs will never achieve that.
We try to keep this place enjoyable to anyone and we will not have you ruin it for them over minor "censorship". I am sorry to say it but I will be blunt...
If you are here and expect to be able to openly put down members for any reason then LEAVE. This is not the place for you. Go somewhere else where open flaming is allowed. If you are here to insult members or get revenge on anyone then it WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. I am sorry to be so blunt but many are growing tired of the tiny situations blown out of proportions by a few members' personal grudges. We don't need to compromise our atmosphere and the feelings of many members over the pleasure of a few.
Note: I edited out the site I used as an example because I put it in a bad light in its context.

K cspace, i see no harm done. I only take offence to one particular member (i wont name here). Other then that i see no harm. The ban has been removed and anyone that had an account named jamesbond or jamesbondman or anything close to that has been disabled, ip banned, range banned, email banned, and anything else you can think of. So the impostures of me have been terminated.

Adding upon the so-called 'censorship':
I heard...
Freedom of speech is an amazing thing, I'm glad that people have this right. But not only is freedom of speech important, but credibility is important as well. It is very difficult to take somebody seriousily when they spout profanities and insults for the sole purpose of attacking a member. Last night was a perfect example of this. There were some situations popping up, and that's just fine, things happen and we need to take care of them as they come along. But when things go out of hand, when people develop a gang mentality, when people start insulting others and when they believe there is nothing wrong in insulting others it is Very difficult to take those people seriousily.
The easiest thing to do would be to blame the clan, but if you look at things realistically the clan has not changed. The rules were not changed all of the sudden just to bring people down. Members have not changed just in spite of others. I do not believe that this is a difficult concept to grasp. This clan, these rules, the members, have all been around for a long time. Why is there a problem all of the sudden?
It is just confusing to me.

Ahh, but the same can be said for the opposite, Raffy. Swearing sometimes is the only way to get the point accross to those of us who are... not on top of our grades, so to speak. Not attempting to generalize, but it's the truth. Some people just laugh at anything other than a swear, and I've seen it.

Hmm... I know how people are very strange with their emotions, they feel they can't stop moving, so they have to make someone else carry their problems. It totally suts.
However... [Insert temperamental lecture here]
Ahem... I feel though that I should vent out my anger outside of forums and such... To myself. Not to anyone else. Especially not inanimate coins.

However... [Insert temperamental lecture here]

XZ, I know what you're trying to say, but it's not something I've found. Swearing at someone might make you feel better, but it won't make people pay more attention to you. Mature people will respect you less for it, and immature people won't care. It's not that they won't take non-swears seriously, it's that they won't take anything seriously. And if they're not going to take you seriously anyway, why bother to fight with them and drag yourself down to the same level?
