Rosery is also being taken away but that is being used for gangrelated. But the crosses is a major deal, your opinion? I think it is a large debate!

Peace out,

Uh, who are the crosses being taken from? If the teachers are taking them off of kids, I don't see why they should be doing that, but if they are taking them from the school, then it is rightly so because the schools are supposed to be non-supporting of any particular religion.

Watch them get sued in like.... a week.
Seriously, they can't do that. If you were showing it off and saying how much better christianity is than everything else, then thats bad. But just taking away random crosses? NOT good nonono2.gif

Ya they shouldn't be taking crosses away. Maybe people need there crosses for something if they take them away kids they can get in real trouble. I know how the cross thing is going on because i go to the same school as yulinford. It's a huge problem. eek4.gif

Taking away crosses!? My GOD... Sounds almost like censorship... In my opinion, that's not right. Teachers shouldn't be supporting of any religion, and in taking away crosses, they're doing just the opposite. Freedom of speech, and this is a great example.

Kids have the right to show their religion and taking the symbol of the religion is denying them their right. The school is going to start having problems with parents about that.
They aren't taking me cross without a suspension. nonono2.gif

I agree with that school. You shouldn't be wearing a cross in school. It's like wearing a yamacha to school. If you want to express a religion go to a private school. Public school is open to all religion, but in no way are we allowed to express or teach about it. Parents might be offended by what the kids and teachers are influencing their kids.

The bible says tell your friends about christ your town your community your country and then the world. if we can't do it at school then how are we suppose to spread the word of Jesus. It is like telling the muselim girl she can't wear her turban to school... wrong choice just lost $100000.

America is a free country. That means all religions can be practiced. The school can't base its beliefs on the bible.

Exactly...there is a little thing called freedom of religion. You cannot take crosses from people based on this. If there is another reason that they are being taken away that threatens people in the school, then they should be taken away (ie. Gangs ect.) Anything that isn;t causing two much of a disterbance should be perfectly fine in a school. Our school always did the Lord's Prayer in the morning until someone stole the tape. There was never any complaint to this though. If someone didn't want to participate in this then they could always not listen and sit down during it. The only people that sat down for it though were the people who sat down during Oh Canada. To me though, anyone who can't stand for their own countries national anthem because they are to disrespectful or LAZY is not fit to eat the dirt of the bottom of my shoe.
