I hope you're all okay, sounds like a pretty scary thing.

We don't really get natural disasters over here. Although the area I live used to be quite volcanically active a few million years back grnwink.gif .

Stay safe everyone, I don't want to hear about any of you getting hurt by it.

Hurricanes are very common in/near Florida (we even have hurricane season from June to November), but it's very rare for one to come over the middle of the state (usually they hit the coast or the southern part of the state, if at all) and even more rare to have two hit within the same season (last time was 50 years ago if I recall correctly).

(Sorry biglaugh.gif it's all the news people and radio people have been talking about for a week doh.gif . There was barely any mention of Tuesday's primary election (which they usually talk about for several days at least). They even had to explain why the space shuttles at Cape Canaveral could be in trouble, as if we can't figure that out ourselves.)

Well, I hope you guys are okay. As for me, first they said it was coming straight for us and told us about how it was going to destroy everything, and then it turned. Whatever_anim.gif The weather people are saying it's heading towards the Georgia's center.
We never have hurricanes hit because of our inland shore. grnwink.gif

Anyway, hopefully you're all safe.

We've never had a 'bad' storm in Louisiana. But when hurricanes hit places like F, we get the edge of it. So I'll be expecting a good amount of rain.

They closed schools on the West Coast of Florida now as well also, because people from the east are retreating over here, and our schools are volunteering as shelters. WOOT NO SCHOOL TOMORROW, AND MONDAY WOOTAGE. Ok, sudden outbreak. But besides that... we still dont know how bad this storm will affect us on the West Coast, as well as the East... they are always saying it can turn, and its wobbling on the path. They better get the **** together, because they predicted Hurricane Charley wrong, hope they can get this one right.

Hurricanes can only go up to level 5. Level 4 is pretty strong. You gave a pretty big area for where you live, but if you live closer to Jacksonville I don't think you really need to worry. They keep moving the projected path ever-so-slightly south (which adds up over all the changes).

It was kind of interesting that after the last one the gas ran out and now it's run out two days before (instead of after). My sister and I saw a gas truck and she said she thought the people behind it were probably following it to whichever gas station it went to.

I wish blowing on the hurricane worked, Star bluetongue.gif . All the tracks I've seen don't really show the center going towards Georgia, more to the west. By the time it gets over there it should be a lot less strong (unless it spends a lot of time over the gulf).

A good thing, a lot of the trees that were going to fall already fell with Charley (Why did they spell it like that? I have never met a boy who spelled his name like that. Only one girl once.). I hope that means less clean-up time at the zoo (and everywhere else too, of course).

Nyuk, Star's blowing is causing the darn hurricane to go towards meeee!!! The weather people, who are always wrong, predict 75 mph winds by the time it gets to me, so, knowing them, it will be 80 mph winds..

An Australia-wide radio station segment (Kyle and Jackie O) went to Miami for one week for the MTV movie awards. Today, they had to fly over to LA and host their show there, so they don't get hit by the cyclone bluetongue.gif
