They aren't our official rules yet, this is just a sample. It is actually a revamped version of the resolution system which is intended to be a little lighter, it's just that the "No Warning" rules still exist because they are major.

The largest change is how we handle flaming, the rest is mostly reorganized or slightly reworded so it isn't as confusing.

I edited the flaming section again so warnings are not the foundation of everything.

Arr, big. Hopefully we'll reach the point where "punishments" are commonly known so that we don't have to refer to a big list and seem strict. Not every situation is the same, so arguements start up over what is deserved and what the rules say. I just like warnings most of the time myself.

Edited the rule for pornography to include borderline images:

Pornography: This is an instant ban as well as a reason for immediate deletion of your post and follow-up replies.  It DOES NOT BELONG HERE, NO EXCEPTIONS.  Posting links to porn sites will result in the same action.  If a questionable image exists in your signature/profile or a post which is technically not "pornography", but in the view of a mod appears to realistically convey the same ideas, a mod can request the removal of the image (or remove it given the necessary powers).  If the member refuses a SMod of above's request it could result in a suspension.  If a mod (who should be an example for others to follow) conveys these borderline images it could result in the removal of mod rights.

But wouldn't that leave one mod with an opinion that it should stay, and another mod the opinion that it sholud go? Individual opinions for action shouldn't take place, as it will cause differences. In my opinion, you should just have it to be a set of rules, instead of relying on the opinion on the mod.

SMods have the ability to suspend for a day, they should have enough judgement to handle an explicit image. Nothing would be lost, if it is decided later to be fine it can be added back into the sig. If in doubt a mod should bring it up in Mod Discussion though, where all mods can have some input.

If a member thinks it was wrong it can be brought up in the Mod Appeal Board, and if a mod thinks it was wrong it can be brought up in Mod Discussion. The members should be keeping the mods in check within reason, and a mod would not want to delete something over an iffy situation because it is very likely to come up soon after in the form of criticism.

Again, I will recommend that a mod please check in Mod Discussion first before taking action regarding something pertaining to the revised rule.
