Scott Peterson's Sentence Death or life in prison?

Scott Peterson has been convicted of one count of first degree murder and another of second degree murder. What sentence do you believe he should receive?
Someone should probably post a link to a news story on the issue for those that don't know about the issue, but I don't have time.

Life without parole. Killing him by lethal injection not only costs more, but it doesn't punish him. I believe he needs to sit there for the rest of his life and think about what he did. One year in prison almost kills you ont he inside (I know a man who was in there), so between 35-50 years (until death) ought to punish him.

I'm with Base on this one. Euthanizing costs alot more than having someone rot away in prison. He also brought up a good point- having him sit there and realize all the wrongs he did. Lethal injection only makes his punishment not as quick. Even though it's death, he still has a chance to go to Heaven which is a better place. At least in jail, he is living, and is given time to think about what he did, for as long as he lives.

If you don't think lethal injection would be enough suffering for what he did, what's wrong with the electric chair, hanging, or some more painful method of the death penalty?

Well, I think that since he killed 2 people (Don't really know if the second counts as much as the first, but still), he should suffer for it. Sure, being electricuted or having your neck broke, or some other way is painful, but it ends quickly. Suffering and rotting away stays for a long time, doesn't just go away after a couple seconds and it's done. Staying in prison for life, I believe is the worst punishment ever. Maybe not physically, but emotionally it is, and in my opinion, emotionally suffering is worse than physical suffering. He HAS to sit through the rest of his life dwelling on the past of what he did, and live with it in jail until he dies.
He's not only learning the lesson for killing people, but learning how to feel grief, loneliness, and being emotionally scarred. If killing someone is the worst crime ever to be committed, why not give them the worst punishment ever made?

Life sentence is *NOT* a worse punishment than death.
Sure, death ends quickly. But most criminals feel some warped justification for what they do, and generally keep themselves alive purely out of spite. They don't feel "grateful" that the court is merciful and "the better person." Instead, their first thought if they get off is most likely "suckers!" Even if it costs more to execute someone than to keep them alive and getting free food in prison, it's justified spending.
I heard insanity somewhere in describing Peterson, or thought I did anyway. He was convicted of first-degree murder, which means it was pre-planned and intentional. Madmen, as the writer Edgar Allan Poe stated, are incapable of such prior planning of murders.

I'm going to try to say this without going against what someone thinks:
If Scott Peterson did kill the people, and if he did this on purpose, then yes he deserves a sentence. My thought would be life sentence w/no chance of parole. I also think that he should get a sentence of solitary confinement.
This is good because let's face it, if he gets put in with other criminals, someone there will kill him. Someone will not appreciate what he did, and someone will decide to hurt him, this is just common sense.
I also believe emotional pain and suffering hurts even more, then physical pain, if you're killed real fast and simply die how will you remember? If someone dies, and there is a Heaven/Hell, then they may go to Hell and have to dwell on this for the rest of their afterlife.
However if they are alive, then you can be sure they are remembering, sure first it would be all good. But the rest of his life, he'd need to remember, over and over alone he would be to dwell on what he did. Truthfully he would, most likely, be dwelled on commiting suicide but life in prison, with no chance of parole, and solitary confinement would really hurt him.
You could also say "life and one day" as a punishment, because they can make life, but they cannot make that one day in prison. If you don't understand let me try to explain, when you're in prison one of the events you have is to count the days, this allows you not only to watch how long you have been in but also helps you keep your sanity and to figure out-even if you never will leave-how long you've been in there.
Another thing is prison isn't what it used to be, remember it ain't the whole cut the rocks and make lisence plates, etc. It's not games that is true, but it isn't as hard as it used to be, specificly because of all the humanity rights that exist now-a-days.

They eat green meat that is NOT fresh. They are subject to all types of searches 24/7, doesn't matter if they consent or not. They sleep on rock beds, basically. You don't get any freedom and no, it isn't good at all. It doesn't matter how hard it was back in the day, and those "humanity rights", most don't apply.
