Blogger is AMAZING (for newbies and experienced users alike)...
if you want a blog or a place to post your site's news.
-----
If you want a forum, go to www.invisionfree.com. It's basically an Invision Power Board (like this one), but with ads, and a few features removed. Everything's hosted and set up for you. There's a small learning curve, but once you have the Admin CP figured out, you can do pretty much anything you want to it.
If you're fairly experienced (and can run your own server 24/7, or have access to a server that supports PHP and SQL), you can run your own Invision board - all the features and no ads. Go to www.invisionboard.com and download it (it says you have to pay, but you really don't - paying just gives you access to tech support and some other stuff).

Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.
