My friend has a security program running that switches him to a different proxy server every few minutes... in effect, changing his IP address. It's unlikely... but the forums track activity over a 15-minute period, so if several people were doing it... could be.

On the other hand, w00t! 126 people!

The same happened at another website last week at school. My friend went to these forums and saw like 200 guests. He said that there are usually only 10 people active at a time.

I read about a new bug spreading (on CNN) and it spreads to message boards and floods them with guests to try and blow up their server. I highly doubt that would work here

This may not be it, but it sure seems likely.

Edit: Just remembered exactly what it is. Someone has been using the Google Bot and other bots used by Google to flood message boards that are linked to Google.
