A lot of Australians where over in Indonesia when this happened, it's shocking, Australian government is sending over a Hercules aircraft to help with the tragedy.

Yeah it was on the news here. Heaps of Australians and New Zealanders are missing. And about this time of year I think tonnes of us are over there taking a holiday.

68000 isnt final yet...and there are the affected survivors as well. and I've heard that a small village had 2/3 of its population wiped out

I've also been hearing about this for the last 3 days... It's horrible, I mean, one disaster after another. First strikes a gargantuan earthquake, 9 on the Richter Scale (My GOD!), horrible in itself. Of course, that wasn't enough. Up comes a tidal waves, engulfing huge stretches of land in many feet of water, killing so many with debris, drowning, you name it. And of course, after 76,000 had been killed from that, it still wasn't enough. Now there are epidemics of diseases such as diarrhea and malaria. When will it end? Supposedly, the death toll could reach 100,000. This is incredibly devastating, and my heart is with the families of those who've lost loved ones down there... sad.gif

I think they said that it was highest quake on the Richter Scale since one in Alaska in the 60s.
