SeeD never really was a clan and it was never really just runescape based.
Well, you're speaking for what you're familiar with, we were only a RS-based clan (and RS-only) for almost two years. The whole reason for expansion was because of the change in the game as well as its effect on who is willing to stay. RS is not going to
die anytime soon, but it is getting to the point of teetering on a rope if it keeps going in a certain direction. Instead of being at the mercy of the game's appeal, we are spreading so no matter what happens to RS SeeD can still go on.

Back about a year and a half ago we began to see this decline in the RS community. It resulted in a number of things, and really that is what created our anti-rulebreaker atmosphere. Before then we were pretty normal, but due to our size (and at that time promotion from members, which was destroyed in a way during 2004) we figured that if anyone
could stop that decline it would be us, for we doubted the ability of a PKing clan (almost all other "massive" clans were PKing clans) to bring about this positive change in the atmosphere. Nothing against PKing clans, but they rarely provide a benign atmosphere to the game.
The Legion of Aderon and our other efforts were almost always undermined by other clans because no one thought that a positive change could be made. If any change was made it would be made by a majority of players, while we were really just trying to be a catalyst to bring about this progress other clans commonly thought it was "SeeD trying to save the world". So few tried to assist with the cause, though the few who did probably impacted many players in some way... It just wasn't enough.
I'm sorry to say it, but it was common arrogance, elitism, and short-sightedness which brought this change to RS. Few understand that it is best to fix the roof when the sun is shining, and now I'm afraid that this is obvious now. We tried and the cause didn't catch on, no one took it seriously... All is not lost, but I'm afraid that before any positive change is made in the game the players will have to change their goals.
I guess we have to face it, RS is becoming a PKer's game. Not that there is anything wrong with it... but the old game is pretty much lost I'm afraid. That is the biggest magnet away from SeeD. While we aren't against PKing (and if there are members who love PKing, they can schedule all the PKing events they want and recruit as many high levels as they think would be needed)... We don't have the elitist atmosphere which goes with many of the PKing clans. Those who desire this and feel a need to be in a clan such as that to be a powerful character seem to be leaving more than anyone.

Once factions catch on though, we will be independent of the ups and downs of RS. This I am sure of... We can still fight for the old atmosphere in RS, but no matter how hard we try we will get nowhere if the players (in general) remain so resistant to change. Since the PKing clans have such a huge influence on the game now though, I'm afraid that our ability to help preserve the old atmosphere is fading away.

And you won't find too many stuck up players in SeeD like the ones you find in Runescape, I guess that's just the way we are
Lol, the way things are going we may become one of the few large clans left without the "0wn j00 all" appeal.

Addition: Sorry for the long post...

Just had to get a few things out I guess
