new picture (about 500x500 pixels works well)
fill it black
make a new layer and fill it black also
(on the new layer from now on)
filter>noise>add noise
about 50-60%
select>color range
click in the picture, and hit ok
hit delete
select>deselect
this gives you a sort of haze
immage>adjustments.hue/saturation
check colorize, and move the slider till you have the color you like hit ok
now use the filter>blur>motion blur
angle 0, distance 30-40
now use filer>distort>wave
play with this untill you get a fairly cool looking wave
filter>distort>twirl 80-100
now, duplicate this layer, and chose edit>transform>rotate 90 degrees
now get your eraser, and set it to a big blurry brush, and set your flow to aprrox 50-60, now erase a little from both layers following the curves somewhat until you have a nice whispy efect, (sort of what you are looking for)
you can repete the process, using difrent colors to get a wilder efect,
play with the layer blending modes in the layers palette to get more interesting efects.
to use in a sig, select the best looking part, and copy it, then paste into the background of a sig.

sory there are no images to go with this, i made it some time ago, and lost the pictures somhow. (and i dont feel like doing it to make some)

MRB, what are you using? Photoshop 6 doesn't have a Liquify filter as far as I've looked...
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.
