Some can argue that our promotion on the web is the reason that we became so large. Back a while ago everyone considered SeeD to be their own clan and took their part in promotion. For some reason this has stopped, and along with it so did much of our new traffic. That's why new active faces seem to not be showing up. As a result many have complained about it and couldn't put a finger on a solution.

Well, this is the solution because it's what made us active in the first place, and now that things are going well we're capable of promoting again. TheSmile.gif

I have posted about this many times, but it seems that not many wish to take the time anymore to do anything to further our promotion. Well, this post is for them, because all they'll have to do is copy and paste. bluetongue.gif

So here you go, if you wish to post it (on an appropriate community, not another clan board) feel free to edit it and add to it... or feel free to just paste it literally. I don't mind, we just need to put our existence out there for everyone to see.

... And for those who wish to have a generic title too (lol...), here are a couple that you can copy and paste if you'd like:

Title: SeeD Is Recruiting! - Active Since 2001
Description (if applicable): Currently over 3000 registered members

QUOTE
Ever think about joining an active clan with which you can participate in numerous events, go PKing, be a part of a great community (which transcends the game itself), or just do what should be the purpose of any clan... have fun?  Well why don't you join the hundreds of players who joined SeeD for those reasons?

Here is what some have recently said about SeeD on our boards...

"He told me this was a great place, and guess what... he was right" - Bigrat2

"i hadnt gone active b4 I met Serpentfight and that was a month after i joined. serpentfight showed me around and i met Noalei and Baseballl. baseballl showed me x zolon. x zolon swhoed me Red Falco. and me and base found Star. then i became active cuz i foudn friends" - Spikeout
---------------------------------

"Runescape was getting pretty boring, training one skill after the other, and I wanted something more. I believe I first checked out a clan, can't remember the name, I believe it was Swedish, anyway. I emailed the leader, as it said to do if you wanted to join. Two weeks later, I began searching again, the leader never giving me a reply. I still haven't had one to this day.

The next clan I came to was, huzzah, SeeD! I saw it as an oppurtunity, a small...ish clan not quite at its humble beginnings, but already on its way to something greater. I immediately made my first forum post in the Recruit/Request board (an Archive now), and got an quick response, officially making me a SeeD.

Good times, good times..." - Hyperfried

"I remember the first SeeD meeting I went to, back in november 2002. I was a noob so it was like a huge party to me" - Vietpryde

"i joined seed to get some ambition going again." - Bmatt54321
---------------------------------

"Alas, I joined SeeD because I heard Mike saying, "Dude....Do you want a clan?" I replied simply, "Sure...Depends if they're wealthy or not etc. etc." And then he pointed out SeeD. So I went ahead and did it." - Ruckus Fox  bluetongue.gif

"Anyways, I met Star Jedi, because of.. reasons, and she told me about SeeD. I told her I registered, and joined, and she kinda freaked out/got majorly excited or something " - serpharimon

"hehehe, t3h spr00gler made me join. I hate him forever for it. BUT, i love the clan.

"So, if I were to say one thing was my reason for joining SeeD... It was to get revenge on those blasted trees! Seriously too! Lol... " - Cspace
---------------------------------

"Uh, basically... I was planning to lead a clan of my own, but was rather new to RS and wanted to see how RS clans operated as compared to EQ guilds. SeeD was one of the clans I found; I watched it (them? you? us?) for awhile and said to myself, "Self, you're level 30. You can't even wear addy. Nobody wants to join your clan. Get over it." So I joined SeeD instead " - Phieta

***************************************************************

SeeD has existed since late 2001 and has weathered through many situations... Always strengthening from them.  Now in 2005 we are probably one of the most capable clans remaining in Runescape.  Created and maintained completely with the members in mind, almost the entire clan was molded by the members themselves.  The leaders, most going back to our beginnings and three having extensive leadership training in real life, work to maintain the power of the members for they are the life of the clan.

We are also strongly against rulebreaking and have helped numerous SeeDs (as well as those who aren't members) handle situations brought upon them.

The members are also very friendly and some are extremely generous.  At parties and other events we have even gone to the point of giving away party hats on an occasion or two.  Although we have rune miners and other high-leveled players, they are always glad to help out those who are new.

Everyone is welcome!

... And once you join you can participate in our numerous events!  Events are always welcome to be hosted in SeeD and we all love them.  From parties, to PKing events, to skill contests, to firemaking events, and even to running through the wilderness with level 3 Santa characters every year around Christmas. Need proof? Here's some screenshots from a firemaking event and costume contest we a little while ago:

On top of that, along with of our existence as a Runescape clan we will be expanding to other games soon.  So if you play more than just Runescape, SeeD and CurvedSpace can still be your gaming community.  TheSmile.gif

So if you're interested in joining a fun "everything clan", SeeD is your best bet.

... So what are you waiting for?  Check out our website at http://seed.cspacezone.com and take a look around!  The site includes features such as forums, an image gallery, blogs, shoutbox, and much more. If you wish to join you will be warmly welcomed, and a month from now you could be thinking the same of SeeD as the hundreds who are already with us.  thumb.gif

Along with posts, remember that events can be used for promotion. Some examples of highly promotional events (or parts of events) are public parties in our name, trains, and sometimes firemaking events.

... And as always, remember to tell your friends about SeeD! Sometimes the simple "Hey, check out this clan" will be all that is needed. TheSmile.gif

For those who have been asking me if there's anything they can do for SeeD (and me always saying "not at the moment"), this is what they can do. Suave_anim.gif

Thanks thumb.gif

Actually, Asylum, that might be a bit much, because...

A) We'd get swamped. Seriously. That newspaper goes out to the ENTIRE SCHOOL.
B) It's kind of... weird advertising a web community in a newspaper.
C) It just... doesn't sound right.

I'll enjoy feedback on this one, but, whatever bluetongue.gif

Still, what a great idea Cspace! And so well written! thumb.gif (He included my quote! W00T!)

w00t! i'm in an advertisement! Next there'll be TV commercials, then fame, product endorsements, and... well, that won't happen...

BUT STILL! it's like an advertisement, wrapped in a do-it-yourself guide, wrapped in a just-add-water scam, wrapped in my quote!

oh, and Ferret Overlord:

A-L-B-E-R- .... Kerkie!

And during the time when they were eating the flesh off my face, A little ditty went through my head. It went something like this:.... AHHHHHHHHHHHHH, OH MY GOD! GET THEM OFF GET THEM OFF! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! AAAHHHAHHAHH!
AHH! AHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! OH MY GOD! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

And I remember those first words she said to me:

Hey, You got weasles on your face

Something has happened, I can't put a finger on exactly when, but things have changed. A year ago members were willing to assist with promotion but now it seems that almost no one wants to take one or two minutes to simply tell someone about SeeD. Either some just don't want to do it, or they don't think they're any good at it. I have brought it up numerous times, just as inactivity has been brought up numerous times. If all the people who have complained about inactivity put a few minutes into promotion it would no longer be an issue. Because of this I even made a contest with a reward of a hosted forum, thinking that really only a few minutes of work would be worth one... But I was wrong.

Sorry, this is getting to me a little. Out of everything in SeeD, if there were one responsibility, it is to help at least maintain SeeD's image so promotion is possible. With this I'm talking about those who repeatedly post wrongly down topics (and that is why I was trying not to put leave threads center stage, as some did not know why). Then for those who wish to help they can at least mention us on other communities and assist with creating new life within SeeD... Or even just tell their friends.

If every active member (not saying all 1000+) invited one other active member we would be completely set in terms of activity. That's all it takes... Really... And no one should underestimate the ability of a well-placed and persuasive thread on a RS forum just for recruiting. From a single thread on RS Community a year and a half ago we gained over 10-15 new members who were active. One thread, and it wasn't even one with a lot of thought put into it. It took 10 minutes to write, that is all (not the one in this thread). Anyone could do that. It's easy, and it is through these posts that some young clans explode with activity so quickly.

I will say that advertising and promotion are a couple of my strengths. I have done absolutely no promotion during the past months because of time having to be spent on other aspects, but if only three SeeDs would wish to work with me directly with promotion we can turn everything around. Only three SeeDs is all I ask. It will take a little time (not much) but it just takes three. More would be great, but three is the minimum for obvious and relatively quick effectiveness.

It's not too late to turn everything around, we went from 30 members to 300 in really only a matter of months. The same proportion, saying that there are 150 members active on the forums, we could reach 1500 active members in a matter of months... Lol, no, we don't want that many so suddenly, but I'm just trying to make a point, eh? biglaugh.gif

Really, it's okay if you don't want to take a part in promotion, I will not hold it against you. I am talking about SeeD as a whole, and it would be greatly appreciated if a few members could help with this (please contact me, with organization this can be more effective).

There are two things that can hurt SeeD and should be priorities to fix: Inactivity and a heavy atmosphere. With the heavy atmosphere, activity will not increase, so that has to be the first priority (as it was). Now that it is basically fixed, we can focus on activity. The atmosphere is a difficult aspect to improve, but we did it, I knew we would. TheSmile.gif The activity, completely on the contrary, is a very easy aspect to improve that merely reflects on the atmosphere. Let's tackle this and be done with our "issues". bluetongue.gif

Once we deal with activity I can guarantee that the life of our clan will be extended by our entire life so far. I'm just thinking about this as one aspect of a metaphorical overhaul. Just like a car engine needs things to be replaced on intervals of miles driven, our clan needs the same. Let's finish it and go on to the next 200 miles. thumb.gif

if this works.....jesus christ, the newcomer boards will have so much spam.gif we will have enough to feed all of SeeD! TWICE!

No offense Cspace, but although the post is like red to a bull, it would be much more effective if we had PICTURES of events, and of course, to prove that when it comes to scammers, we take no prisoners... flamethrowingsmiley.gif

I'll put together a poster.

If possible, could we have a temp board dedicated to the promotion of SeeD?
Ranks, like: Head Coordinator, writers, artists, salespeople.

I mean, we now have only about 80 active members. 13 people leaving is a heavy blow.

Of course, I would be Head Coordinator... Whatever_anim.gif
