- Activity and size. Your faction can only really grow to a certain size just including current members of SeeD, if you want your faction to really have an impact and do some stuff in the game then you're probably going to need to recruit outside of the current SeeD.
- Interaction. Right now our RS faction alone is fueling every other faction... What if many factions can fuel each other in the same way? This doesn't need to be pushed, it is a natural effect of involvement in the community and activity. Members will look around and see there's more to the place than a single guild in whatever game. If a faction starts promoting itself it will also indirectly be promoting every other faction, making SeeD and the rest of the community more active. In turn, if others do the same, your faction would benefit along with theirs as well. It's a win-win situation for everyone.
- Leadership experience for faction leader(s) and those in other related positions. You may think you won't be able to manage a 100+ member guild right now, but when you work at it your feelings would probably change. You'll get a feeling of accomplishment from this, while at the same time spread the opportunities around to others.
Recruiting Is Not Difficult!

It is not a major process of going around to a thousand sites to submit your faction to the internet (you can, lol, but I wouldn't recommend it, it may give you brain spasms after a while). You don't even need to go to other communities if you don't want to (although if you do, it can be quite effective).
You can establish a clan of decent size without even promoting outside the game. I've seen it done many times.

This is just a friendly reminder, you aren't forced to recruit or anything... but if you take the time to start a faction why not take it somewhere? If at least a few factions maintain decent activity all will benefit, and you can have fun in the process in whatever online game you enjoy.
If you have any recruitment-related questions feel free to post here, you're probably not the only one. I'll be glad to help out if requested.
