mobster101 just stop. by using the bible you're helping to degrade it.
first of all, all those hardcore anti-Christians think they're so reasonable and impartial compared to the hotheaded, firebrand "hillbilly" Christians. obviously, these anti-Christians are blinded by their own prejudices against Christians. first of all, they should know that many of the books in the bible, ESPECIALLY the old testament from which they derive their arguments, were written by Jewish authors. They obviously wouldnt say something like "so we went in and killed all the women and children and raped the virgins" so they used God as an excuse. now it looked something like "therefore God gave victory to us and commanded us to kill all the women and children and rape the virgins, and so we were compelled to do so." i am Christian, but i understand that the bible, especially the old testament, coming from an israelite background, uses God as a defense to justify the condemnable acts that went on (i'm not saying anything against Jewish people; it's just that the nature of people makes it so that they won't condemn themselves, for example the Fifth Amendment). it's not that we aren't aware of the atrocities committed that the bible seemingly credits God with; it's that we can see past the text and realize that there may be a bit of human nature entangled within the bible. let me emphasize this point: while it is true that many die-hard Christians are hillbillies, poorly educated, and ignorant, not all Christians are so, and being anti-Christian does not make you cool or smart.
as for my view on homosexuals, Nighthawk551's first post could not have expressed it better. i proudly announce that i dislike gays, and while the rainbow-paraders argue that the country is trying to force its views on them, they are doing the exact same thing; what if we choose not to accept gays as valid marriage candidates? America's based on popular view, buddy. What the majority says, goes. and surveys have shown that while most people in America favor gay rights,
75% opposes gay marriage. regardless of what their motivation may be, America is obligated to follow the majority, which in this case, says
*Curse Removed* GAY MARRIAGE.EDIT: i just wanted to say, for those legitimate atheists out there (those who choose not to believe in a higher being, or harbor resentment toward who they view as God), i'm not insulting you. i'm insulting those who think it's cool to oppose God because their friends do it.
*Curse removed by Base. This directly implies the F word by going around the word filter*
