NEED WINDOWS HELP!

okay, i'm on a different puter now!
my own puter wont work! i uninstalled a firewall called "jetico personal firewall 1.01" and now my puter wont go farther than "windows 98" and that flag! afterwards it says "cant locate the file "BCFILT95.VXD" , push a button to continue" whatever i push nothing works! HELP!

Sorry man, but to me this seems like a situation where it would be far easier to just re-install Windows than to try repairing your problem. If you go this route, be sure to back up whatever files you can first. Also, once you're up and running again, installing a firewall and virus scanner should be your first priority. For free stuff I'd recommend ZoneAlarm Firewall and AVG Antivirus.

I can't find any information on the missing driver you mentioned :-\

If you have a back up disk, like the one that comes standard with HP's, I'd try inflating all the files. (Worked for me; my comp would start, load for like .0005 seconds, then it would close "Explorer" and "Systray," odd, but it works fine now.)

well, that puter wont even open itself so i cant save ****! so i'm stuck on this for like minimum time and no aim! and the other puter is gonna get some disk that will get to file or reinstalling windows.... mehh!

didnt cspace have an update where all caps in titles become normal?

Try loading Safe Mode. Hit "F8" on startup right before the Windows logo appears.

If it won't boot into Safe Mode, I'd say that installation of Windows is... well, the word I'd choose would be censored, so I'll say "terminally stuffed." If you have a recovery disk like Cowboy mentioned, use that; otherwise your Windows 98 CD (not the Second Edition updates disc) should be bootable. Failing that, I assume you're on another Win98 machine right now? Go to Add/ Remove Programs and there should be an option to make a bootable floppy disk. Once you have a boot disk (floppy, or the Win98 CD) you should be able to run Win98 setup.

If you feel comfortable fussing around inside your computer, you should be able to take out the hard drive, set it to "slave" mode, and install it in the system you're using right now. That'll let you get to any files that need backing up before you reinstall (you shouldn't be forced to format the drive when installing Win98, but just in case...)

If you get it in safe mode, scandisk then defrag. It worked for me.

hmmmmmmm... it cannot find 2 files now, but i came on with help from "step by step acception" so i'm on.... only the screen is a "little" to big and t3h colours a bit....

it missed two files, then i went out, when i came home it was fully working!
