As some of you may know, the new Pope was in the Hitler youth. Do you think he should be allowed to be pope?

Hitler youth was compulsory in Nazi Germany.

That's like saying that anyone who was a child in Nazi Germany shouldn't rise to a position of power anywhere.

Umm.....being a hitler youth myself (bluetongue.gif jk) I think if he was forced to join and didn't follow hitler afterwards, then he should be allowed.

of coarse he should be allowed, being the dean of cardinals and all, he was like the best friend of John Paul II... just because he's german duzn't mean he's a Nazi... thats just shows how prejudice people can be

He should be allowed. He wasn't part of any Nazi concertraion camp with the Jews he just was in Hitler Youth. However a African or Latin Amercian pope would be better because it would make more africans and latins more willing to be cardinals and such.

HE WAS IN THE GERMAN ARMY OH MY GOD STOP THE PRESS.

Not everyone who was in the German army was a nazi.

Does everyone in the US army support the war in Iraq?

I don't see it as a problem. He has been forgiven for what he may have done.

No offense or anything, but the Pope looks very smiliar to Hannibal Lector from Silence of the Lambs. icon_sweatdrop.gif
