"It was the seventh day of the third lunar month, 2402 of the second age...

Darkness consumed the world. Everyone screamed as the encroaching shadow devoured the great city of Pompelus, like a fog of death and destruction. The dead materialized before my eyes, from the Dark World with a thirst for flesh and blood. Spectres of an unknown order hovered overhead, chanting monotonous, frightening spells (or so it seemed). This must be an age of regrowth, though the people of this new world should understand the history of our world, for darkness will not remain in its current state forever. Eventually another hero must take the mythical sword and end the advancement of evil forever, or all will be lost... I can feel it. As one of the few remaining paladins of the ancient order, I can feel the whispers on the wind..."
