A Guide to Starting Darkstorm

Table of Contents:
1. Getting Started
2. Getting Your Status
3. Secondary Characters, Skills, and Trader Class
4. Getting Items and Money
5. Battle System
6. Going Into Darkstorm

So many of you think that Darkstorm is very complicated. Well it's only complicated when you're trying to get your status in. So here's a guide to help you all.

1. Getting Started
The first thing you need to do to get started is pick your Class, Race, Deity, and an Alignment. You can find out more information by going to www.cspacezone.com and going under the section Darkstorm and clicking Class, Race, Diety, or any of the Alignments.
When you got that you need to pick a name or anything creative. The basic layout of your Darkstorm information would be kind of like this:
Chad Lord of Farington

QUOTE
Race - Zal'Dharon
Class – Druid:
Deity – Lady Eranara
Secondary Class – Healer, Monk
Hometown – Dharonia

You can choose your hometown by choosing a town located in Darkstorm. The rest can be explained later.

2. Getting your status
Your status is the most important thing and complicated thing you'll need. The basic layout of the Status system is:
Character Status

QUOTE
Total Stat Points 298 (7450)
Strength (DP +2 per point): 0
Intelligence (-15 EC per point): 118 + 15 = 133/1995
Vitality (+40 per point): 160/6400
Affinity 3 + 2: 5
Consitution 2 + 3: 5
Devotion Points 20

You start out with 10 status points. For every 50 posts you make, you get 2 more status points. The basic equation for getting your status point is, X number of post divided by 50 x 2 + 10.
When you got that, you need to distribute each of the points to your Strenght, Intellegence, Vitality(HP), Afinity(Affinityuse yet), Constitution(Not in use yet), and Devotion points.
When you're working with Strenght and IntellegIntelligence need to multiply it by a certain ammount amounter times the status points you put in. An example would be:

QUOTE
> Ranger: Rangers are the best with ranged weapons, and also quite good with bladed weapons. They are similar to Paladins and ShadowHunters, though follow their own cause.
- Intelligence Effect (per point): Decreases EP consumption of abilities by 5
- Strength Effect (per point): Normal attack DP + 5
- Starting Affinity: 0
- Starting Constitution: 5

Let's say you're a Ranger, for each point you put into Intelligence would be multiplied by 5, and each point you put into the Strenght of your ranger would be multiplied by 5. Now to get your Vitality, you'll need to pick a Race. For example:
Humans: The most balanced of all races, they possess no real strengths or weaknesses. They are, however, looked down upon by many Elves, who's homeland has been destroyed by man's pursuit of conquest in the past.
- Vitality Effect (per status point): Increases your hit points by 50
If your race is a human, then each status point you put into your vitality is multiplied by 50.
Now explaining each status is easy. Let's say you you 133 intelligence points into your intelligence status. You multiply that by 5 and you get 665. When you use an ability like,

QUOTE
- Light Arrow (3000): EC=500; DP=Normal bow damage + 100 against Darkness: Does more damage to Dark targets.

you would need to use 500 of your EC to use it. But your intelligence post subtract 665 from that 500 and you don't have to use any EC to use it. EC is the amount of energy it requires to use the ability. Your EC is decided by your post count. If you have 50 EC, you have 50 post counts. That Light Arrow skill requires 3000 Post Counts. You can find out how many post count you need for an ability by looking at the number inbetween the ( ) 's.
Your strenght cannot stack with the attack your using. For example, let's say you have 10 skill points in your strenght. That's 10x7 if you're a Warrior. In total you can do 70 DP to a character. Now one of the Warrior's abilities is,

QUOTE
- Titan Slash (4000): EC=0; DP=600; Requirement = Warrior loses next turn: The Warrior applies all of his/her strength toward a devastating blow.

You would not add that 70 DP you can do to the attack you're using.

Now the Deity skill is Self-Explanitory.

3. Secondary Characters, Classes/Skills and Trader Classes.
To get a Secondary Character you need to have a limit of 1000 Post. Now don't get that confused with the Secondary CLASSES which also require a limit of 1000 Posts. The Trader is limited to ONLY being Secondary characters and requires a limit of 1000 Posts. The status of your Secondary Character must be half of which you have. For example: You have 10,000 Posts, your character has 5,000. The trader cannot attack or do any quests. Nor can they sell your main character anything, but any profit made goes to the main character.
Secondary Classes are a little different. To have one Secondary class requires 1000 post. To have two Secondary class Requires 5000 posts. 10,000 Posts = 3 and 17,000 = 4.

4. Getting Items and Money
You can either buy items from a NPC or a Trader, or you can make a Personalized weapon which can be found on the Personalized Weapon page on www.cspacezone.com. To get money you go to the topic in the Darkstorm Forum located in The Void. The topic's name is called "Want a few Cinni or Creds?" and it was made by Cspace.

5. Battle System
Well you can either fight or run away. When someone dies you go back to your hometown and nothing is lost unless you staked something. Once in battle you must only use one attack per turn. You must wait for the other person to attack you until you can attack again. If the other player is not online and he hasn't logged off yet, you can attack him. You must wait 10 minutes and if he does reply he can attack you. If he doesn't reply, you can attack him until he's dead.

6. Going into Darkstorm
You will first show up in The Void. It's where most new people post in and then they can move into Earthia. When you travel to places you have to use the Connections that Connect the Area. For example to get to Aderon to Shral Valeron, you must cross the Sea - Connection to get to Shral Valeron. You'll need a ship to cross the connection to get to Shral Valeron.

That's all you need to get started in Darkstorm. If you need anymore information on it, PM either me, Cspace or the other Game Mods. You can contact me by either PMing me in the forums, E-mailing me at jagookie@yahoo.com, or IMing me on my screenname JoeSecret.

P.S. I also put this in the Submission section of Cspacezone, please rate it there TheSmile.gif
