Yep, I added the second of the planned defensive melee secondary classes. An offensive melee class and an offensive magic class will probably be added next.

Phalanxeer: A Phalanxeer is a type of defensive warrior. Their strength is in their heavy armor, being able to effectively mitigate the attacks of their enemies.

You may be wondering why I'm adding these melee/magic enhancement classes, but I'm doing it to provide an optional method of enhancing one's primary class. Secondary classes are meant to be lesser classes (fewer abilities than primary classes for the most part), but a way to further customize your character. That's why I'm focusing on making many of these classes instead of just improving the ones we have (although some, including the bardic classes, will receive a few more skills). So for example a Paladin can become more offensively oriented, or can branch out into something else to become more versatile. Since there are many interpretations of all the classes, secondary classes help you make your character either follow your idea or become something unique.

As another example made from a paladin, one can usually either be interpreted as an offensive healer, a knight destined to battle against evil, or a defensive guardian of sorts (and there may be other interpretations). Through secondary classes I plan to allow for these interpretations, as for other classes, to be engineered into one's character if desired. If this is not desired, there are many alternatives which are made available to give the character a wider variety of abilities.

That's the thinking behind secondary classes, and hopefully this can come into play now that these 'extension' classes are being added.
