Oric walks in and looks around, examining the weapons that sat in glass cases before the shop keeper. He skipped past the four labeled, 'Magus Scepter', 'Ardent Great Staff', 'Cleric's Wand', and 'Sage's Walking Staff', for he would have no use for them, and got to the melee weapons.
As he passed the curved axe labeled 'Sacrificial Axe', he quickly passed to the next one. Of the few axes he would use, they were almost always double-sided. But he prefered swords anyways. Besides, reddish-gray was not a color he'd want in any weapon.
The next weapon, labeled 'Ketsetek Flamberge', was much more his style. It looked very powerful, and he liked the long and pointed weapon styles. He could probably handle two of them at once. He marked in his head those as a posibble choice as he continued on.
The next one was entitled 'Sundering Longsword'. This one he liked more than the flamberge, in the sense that he prefered longswords over all other weapons. Besides, it's curved design looked like it could cut through quite a bit very easily. But it wasn't quite powerful enough...
Passing on, he looked at the one called 'Cruel Spike Sword'. Not something he really preferred; the spiked swords were always to rough and dirty. He liked the ones that made a nice and clean job.
The next, 'Ketsetek War Hammer', he almost immediately passed. He never liked war hammers, since they were absolute blunt objects. He preferred slicing over bludgeoning someone to death. Of course, Oric would go with a morning star or flail every once in a while, however grudingly he might be about it, but he despised war hammers.
'Falchion of War', the next one, was not his kind of sword. He had never like falchions, since they were the kind of sword that became bigger as it went out. Of course, he would take one if he needed to, but he usually preferred a nice long sword over it.
Now, the next one he wouldn't buy if he was payed for it. He despised spears, so the 'Spear of Warding' wasn't for him. He had never liked how pole-like they were.
But, even though it was an axe, the 'Halberd of War' seemed like it had a pretty good chance. Of course, it was a mix between axe and spear, but with this weapon the spear point was something he could live with. It was good for a quick stab when needed, but the curved axe would be his main weapon.
The 'Warsword of Victory' didn't have a great chance. He did like warswords better than flamberges, but this one wasn't one he'd want. Besides, it didn't look very powerful anyways.
The 'Keslacan Champion's Warsword' had almost as much chance as the 'Halberd of War'! It looked very powerful, and looked a lot better than the 'Warsword of Victory'. But the Halberd was going to be his choice.
Addressing the storekeep, he spoke. "I'll take two Halberds of War," he said. He took the weapons and handed over the money.
