Native American had many values that they held most dear. Their lives where based on very simple but meaningful morals. The three that I believe are the most important are honor, harmony and fate. Each one of these has a different and powerful meaning to them. The Native American people had so many good things going for them but after the white man came their way had been lost. Many native people have battled to return some of their old ways and some have even lost their lives.
To die in battle was one the ways that the Native American people had gotten honor. Battle was one of the ways that these people get respect. When the white man came and took over everything they had no way to get respect and keep their old ways intact. (Lakota woman quote about men hitting wives cuz the have no jobs/ no ways to “fight in battles and what not”…and black calf quote about being a medicine man and other medicine men being astonished by what he did… also in how the chief was the chief cuz he was making the clan a fighting clan) black calf got to the people quicker because he gave thing to them and giving things was easier and more honorable then being a fighter. This is why the chief got over thrown and black calf got the people’s respect. Since the ways of the old chief was ruining the clan black calf had to overthrow him to return to harmonization.

Harmony is the next ideal that is believed the Native Americans held most cherished. Harmony is the second to most value cherished by the Native American people.

It takes about 142.18 licks to reach the center of a tootsie pop.

Falling stars, Rising Tides
Looking inside, as my heart hides
From the world and all its pains
Battered bruised, scared and stained

From town to town, state to state
Alone I stood, alone I wait
Until the day, you touched my life
To end my suffering, seize my strife

Over the hills, across the seas
Although your far away from me
When I awake I feel your breath
So if I have to, I'll wait till death

We'll lie together, side by side
No longer now, will my heart hide
Whether far away, or high above
I know at least, we have our love
