Houses idea

If we can somehow get this idea to andrew gower and his brothers we might have a new addition to runescape. I had an idea that when or if we get houses on runescape. We would have to have a carpentry skill of 40 or higher to build a house. And our skills would determine what we can put in our house. LIke if you belong to a certain guild like miners guild. You could get one ore rock of your choice added below your house, depending on your mining lvl 10 for tin ore/copper, 30 for iron, 50 for coal, 70 for mith, 80 for adam, 99 for rune. Such as a basement. And if u was cooking guild you could have a range in your house if you was lvl 50 cooking or higher. Maybe a sink at lvl 60, or vise versa. Crafters guild you could get a furnace if u was crafting 60 or higher. Hmm, and it would be like that for many guilds with skill requirements for things in your house. So you cannot just get all that stuff at skill 1 and level it to a high lvl very vast. But I would like comments and suggestions on this. Me and my friends heard of carpentry skill few weeks ago and started coming up with an idea. And this is what we came up with. Also, each house would have 1 storage bin for 20 items, like a bank and a bed, obviously. Maximum number of floors would be 2, not counting basement. Comments solicited.

And if you don’t believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a Favor: go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your cd’s and burn em’. 'Cause you know what? The musicians who’ve made all that great music that’s enhanced your lives throughout the years...

This is a great idea, I haven't heard anything like this before. If someone sends this to Andrew, he may do something like this after careful consideration. The only problem is that the storage bin could make the skills a bit easy since everything could be in one place. But it would naturally be a slight distance from everything, so it shouldn't make the game easier (but there should be a choice of whether to have anvils or a furnace, since they shouldn't be together). Anyway, I hope Andrew hears about this, 'cause it is an original idea.
About where player houses go, Jagex posted something on the Runescape site a while back telling how it will probably work. There will be player-specific areas that everyone would be teleported to from somewhere (supposably). This wouldn't clutter the map, and everyone can have his/her own structure. He also says that this feature will allow for player or group-specific adventures in new areas. This was a while back, but it makes sense if the servers can handle it.
And about the SeeD HQ, this has been planned since player housing was announced. If this is possible, I will make sure that our clan has its own structure
As for when player housing and carpentry will be released, I heard that it will be sometime after the big 3D update (which supposably isn't very far off).

Just to point out, until we get info about a possible HQ, the fairly large castle in the east of Falador is our temporary HQ. Of course, the only things we're able to do there is host parties (of which I've been to some great ones) and hold meetings, if need be.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this idea isn't really that original.
I don't know if anyone here has ever played a mud, but all that it is is runescape without pictures,
played on a command line, and that was what runescape was originally based on. Many muds out
there have already had the housing idea implemented for years.
Although, even if it isn't original, it's an excellent idea. We should all get together and all send Andrew
message asking to add that, or send around a petition or something to send to him.
If your server supports Active Server Pages, I could whip you up some code for the petition if you
want me to.
Cheers.

Cspace, it would take time and effor to build the stuff, like for smelters, youd need lots of wood and coal to keep it going and steel to acctually make it. the anvil would take lot of skill, the beds need silk, and the house would take plenty logs.plus i bet it'll be a members only skill

I'm pretty sure that it will be a member skill, but nobody knows how carpentry will be implemented.
- Some say that you can build houses, and others say that houses and carpentry will be unrelated.
- It is a possibility that you can get a house from a quest
- Another possibility is that you just buy the house.
- I've also heard that houses could be given to everyone, or possibly to those of a certain level.
Unfortunately, I don't think Jagex ever mentioned anything about clan buildings or anything, but they should put them in since so many people want them. It wouldn't be surprising if they do, in my opinion... just maybe not right away.

I've thought of an idea like this also, that I put in eneral discussion so that I would get more replies. An idea I thought of for it is that the owner of house (the person who buys it) makes a password, and to get in, when you click on the door, a box will come up and you will have to type out the password, then another box will come up and will ask for a second password. Then you're allowed in. A problem for this is that player houses would take up A LOT of room in runescape if almost everyone has them. But I ave an idea for it that will probably be way too much work for Andrew Gower, but I'll say it anyways. You know the Young Spirit Tree near the wild? Well, right next to it is a platform with a star in it. All you have to do is stand in it and you are transpoted to a "world" with everyone's player houses. Each house can have a sign on it like the ----------- clan, or, if someone wants their very own, they can have any kind of sign, even their own name. Ours would be "The SeeD Clan," of course. Ad for accessories such as ranges and mining rocks, we can pay for those things, too. I was thinking that we can have something for seeD that is called the "SeeD Pot," and everyone makes donations to help save up so that our clan can actually buy the house and but accessories after that.
For this update to happen earlier or actually happen at all, everyone in seeD can ask Andrew Gower for it, and tell everyone they know to tell him too.
