Yeah the preview would be nicer if we could start from the very start... starting out as level 20 doesn't have the same feel to it. icon_sweatdrop.gif

And the Ritualist has some great moves... although I think if you wanted to spam spirits as a Ritualist, it would be better to go Me/Rt since they take a heck of a long time to cast but when they do, they're darn useful. biglaugh.gif

Nearly killed one of the monsters with all of my spirits + Doom... but then died... Santa thought I was about to actually kill that guy. bluetongue.gif

^^ Thanks Ayumi, you rock!! ^^

How many five-year-olds could you take in a fight?
Red Carnation, Hibiscus. Spiderflower. White Violet... Peony?

I just ran into Gaile (PR rep for Anet) and the new build fixed some bugs, and added some new content. You'll notice it walking around. My belief is that they will continue to filter in content. For instance, if you are in the Luxon territory and you find yourself out side of Eradon Terrace, there is a special Champion waiting for you at the Rez portal outside.

Lots more too I believe! So enjoy and have fun!
Edit:

She added there will be a special event that will occur in the last few hours before Beta weekend ends. Also, she adds that the map we see, is not the complete map.

I don't see how this has to do with Factions? Just don't make Gaile angry? She'll silence you from all channels. Forever!!!!! TheSmile.gif

the assassins are fun to play as.. and the ritualist is pretty odd.. all of his spirit summons look the same but have different names... not very creative if you as me.. new armours and weapons are nice as well as some of the new faces and hair cuts! comabt with assassins is fun and well done.

Im glad i pre ordered it!
Now has a nice new shiny computer, now all i need is my mos back.

It seems to me that the two new classes aren't what I expected them to be and what I wanted bluetongue.gif . There are pros and cons to each obviously, but I seemed to find more cons (of course this is all from my own point of view and playing style). First, the Assassin. I find that they're quite good for quick damage dealing. The Shadow Arts healing skills are pretty good, and the energy regen is nice also. The things I don't like about the Assassin are that they are too fragile. You can't seem to live through a mob for more than a few seconds, and that is something that just won't work out for me. I mean, you're melee, and are right up there taking damage, but you can't last hardly at all. Too much death penalty for me icon_sweatdrop.gif . I like the Ritualist a bit more though, yet not in all aspects. I see the Monk reflected in the Ritualist in the way of Channeling Magic. It is just too weak and casts too long for it to be effective. This seems to parallel Smiting Prayers in the Monk. I got fed up with Communing as well. The spirits in Communing cast *much* too long, and they take *much* too long to recharge as well. The spirits also aren't at a high enough level, even with high Communing. They don't live long enough at level 8, even with a high level of Spawning Power. Those that reduce and take damage die too quickly, and those that deal damage don't deal enough to be worth casted. Bottom line: The casting time and spirit life/damage isn't worth them being there at all. Now, there was something I did love about the Ritualist. That is Restoration Magic biglaugh.gif . The healing skills are astounding! The spirits that are attributed to Restoration *are* worth casting bluetongue.gif . The ashes skills are also very good. I like the weapon-healing skills and the sacrificing skills. I found that the Rt/Mo and Mo/Rt are the ultimate healing support class. I absolutely loved it. I even tested it in PvP, and my team won several games in a row with me as the healer (Rt/Mo). Restoration Magic has me sold biglaugh.gif . The idea of "factions" is a bit confusing. I started off with the Kurzicks. They have hard quests, confusing zones, and very hard monsters. I don't really like them much bluetongue.gif . As for the Luxons, the quests seemed a bit easier, the zones were easier to navigate, and the monsters weren't as hard. The Jade Sea is very beautiful TheSmile.gif . As of this preview, I give Factions a 7.5 out of 10 TheSmile.gif .

Bah people keep bad mouthing factions on this random chat room i found.. why cant people just take the most basic thing into account... if you dont like it DONT BLOODY PLAY IT. Simple as that ^_^ but if you say that they stop bad mouthing it and start bad mouthing you for not liking such a cool game *sobs* no logic at all _sure.gif

After playing it i personaly cant wait to make a ritualist monk to be a pure party helper sort of character. and i just want a pure assassin =(

I would agree with you that they don't have the best ninja builds becuse iv played alot of games with the classes assasin, nija and such in them TheSmile.gif and it has become one of my favorite classes

I make do with what they have and was able to scrap an awesome assasin out of the mix though ha i made it off the styles i was using in karate the day before biglaugh.gif any way there is my oppinion on the guild wars assasin builds

I think the reason that the Assassin class felt unsatisfying is that based off most games, we were expecting a self-sufficient build with decent damage, armour and energy regen. Basically a class that could do everything, which would have been severely overpowered. I do think there are some issues, and I agree with Nighthawk about his analysis.
