While openly recruiting in-game can cause trouble, posting informative threads about us on other GW communities is fine because we can provide more information than otherwise possible (and those who view threads there generally value the community aspects of guilds more than otherwise). A while ago Tan and I discussed this some, and we decided that it would be good to promote our guild on those communities.

If you post on other communities about us, please post links in replies here so guild members can help maintain them and answer questions.

If you don't feel up to writing your own advertisement, here's a generic one you may use or alter (and no need to give credit or quote it or anything, I'm providing it to assist with promotion):

The Defenders of Aderon (DoA) is currently recruiting! We are a featured faction of SeeD, an inter-game guild that was established in 2001. We have an active and friendly community based around gaming and many other topics, and DoA is an emerging guild in Guild Wars that does a bit of everything.

We focus on helping each other and generally having a good time. When we become more active we also have plans to get into GvG for those interested, and we already have an alliance organized so we can jump into the 'Factions' content right when it is released.

We have a great looking cape and a guild hall, along with many very helpful members and a group of runners (and we plan to be able to do the Drok's run fairly soon).

We also have some plucky comic relief, something many guilds lack. 

So why not check us out? Players of all levels and classes are welcome!

There are lots of friendly members, and we're willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needs it. We've got members in many different time zones, so no matter where you live there's likely to be at least one or two people on. We have an extensive and established set of forums dealing both with Guild Wars, other games and general chatting, so even if nobody is in-game there's still something to do.
