Time for another fun debate! Does anything think that Killing another human being can be justified? Currently (in the US), there are ways you can engage in non-criminal homicide (justified killing). This includes war-time killing, criminal execution (under due process), and self-defense. Does anyone disagree with any of these, and if so, why? Also, should there be others (I may have missed one, or there's something that was unjustificable that should be)? Let's hear it!

Yes, there are sircumstances where taking a life is justified. If you don't kill them they will kill you. Now, I support the death sentance but I do belive it has to be a very hanus crime.

I believe justified killing is justified. I believe that there is no problem with killing in war, it is how things work. I am in favor of the death penalty and criminal execution, as long as they are given a fair trial. Self-defense can sometimes get a little "iffy," but in most cases it is fine.

Well, not really murder, but some people call it that. I think Active Euthanasia should be legalized. I agree with Dr. Kevorkian.

the only kind of killing that i think is justified is self-defense or wartime killing (it's sort of in the same category, as you need to kill to survive).

btw, i think we already had a related discussion (on the death penalty) that we went really deep into, i think.

I *heart* killing. Me and my friend are psycho. We are going to go on a killing spree, killing all those sonsa*****es that don't get locked away for doing messed up crimes. I get to be Loki and he is Bartleby...now can anyone tell me where we got that from?

I agree 100% with executing guilty criminals, killing in self-defense and killing in a time of war. Anyone who disagrees with killing in self-defense is a liberal nut-job. biglaugh.gif

Killing people in self defense can sometimes be iffy. The victim has to be in immediate threat of being killed for self-defense to be used to excuse homicide. If someone punches you, you can't just pull out a gun and add to your frag count.

there is a difference between killing and murder... we talked about this in sunday school at church in 5th grade

killing-killing someone out of deffense or in an actual war

murder-the causing of death for fun, no reason, or anything besides deffined in "killing" ShiftyEyes_anim.gif
