Despite the fact that this topic is well over a year old, here is my reply.
The Flame Tide Clan.
The flame tide clan was a special clan for me. The prominent members included:
Raottu (leader)
Hades71291
Jackstick (me)
Jsmith5503
Da Brick
Other members were people such as robzombie, berkeley, and quite a lot more. Around the time RS2 was introduced, the clan began declining. Half the clan wanted to play in RSC, the other half in RS2. I was a primary member in the clan, always wanting to keep things working, and keep the clan alive. I worked hours everyday to keep the clan alive, and tried to convince raottu, hades, and smith not to quit. But due to the declining, the clan met its death.
I joined around 2002. I was in falador and raottu said "press 666 to join my clan" So i wanted to humor myself and I pressed 666. Completely unaware that it would change my view on runescape forever.
When I had joined, the clan was active. Meetings were held on 6 o clock at saturdays, and we had a drop party every month, most of them held by Jsmith5503. The clan was a family, a large group of friends who knew eachother inside and out. The clan was special. We may not have been strong, and we may have sucked in pking, but we never gave up, and we were always going forward.
We had a primary clan friend. The clan was called Shadowfangs. A clan lead by users Cute Babi and Wjadeclan1. Their clan was just like ours, in every way. We considered merging, but it would have been complicated.
In 2003, the flame tide clan was at it's peak. We became very good pkers, we were strongly bonded together, meetings were great, we had high level users, we would sometimes just go walking around and having fun with eachother. It was the most fun I had ever had in runescape. And it still is, runescape is hardly anything to me now that the clan is gone.
In 2004, we were still strong. However we began to grow inactive. Clan meetings became unorganized, drop parties declined, the forums were still active, but not as much as it used to be. We became strongly desperate for users to join our clan.
In 2004 and 2005, the flame tide clan died and relived several times. The first time the clan died was a devastating blow to all of us. But it was coming, and we were all aware of that.
We tried again, and it turned out nicely, but due to events not taking place, the clan died within weeks.
Then we tried again. We gave the clan a new name, the Shadow Crypts. We were doing quite well, for about a month. But of course, it did not last.
Then, we tried one, last time. We seriously gave it our all, and ambition was radiating out of us all. But it was just not the same feeling, the clan, once again, met it's fate.
Raottu still plays runescape. As well as hades, and perhaps da brick. Jsmith has moved on with his life, and I haven't spoken with him in about 2 years. I had so much fun with those guys. Pking trips were so fun, and just talking to them was great too. Now everytime I log onto MSN, I see raottu and hades, both also logged on. Sometimes I feel like talking to them, talking about the good old days. Talking about bring the clan back together, or just talking for the sake of talking. But I feel as though they have moved on in runescape. Hades now controls a large clan called the Silent Killers, and Raottu is pursuing high levels. I on the other hand am the only one who truly wants to bring the clan back together. I have had several ideas. I've told myself that I should set up a nice website, a strong forum, and get a lot of good people, then show raottu that we can be a clan again. But it just does not seem to fit in the puzzle. Why did the flame tide clan die? Though the answer is right there, I cannot accept it. We were an amazing clan, and we should not have declined.
One day though, I know we will be back. It may not be today, or next month. But I know we will be back, and we may not be the strongest clan, or the clan with the highest levels, but we will be a clan.
This message is brought to you by Jackstick, a secondary leader to the flame tide clan, and the one who put the largest and greatest influences on the flame tide clan. I am also the one who created the flame tide clan flag. It still exists, after years of holding our name.
One day though, I know we will be back. It may not be today, or next month. But I know we will be back, and we may not be the strongest clan, or the clan with the highest levels, but we will be a clan, and that's the most important thing.
