Yeah. Meesa have trouble sad.gif Anyways, so to play Guild Wars, I need at least so good a video card. I apparently have an unsupported one that isn't good enough. So I went and found which one I have, and Cspace thinks that mine is built into my motherboard and I can't take it out and put another one in. And my brother thinks that I can't upgrade one that is already in the machine. So that means I'm stuck with my cruddy one and I'll never play GW. So if anyone knows how to get a better video card in my current predicament, please speak up! sad.gif

If it's onboard you'll have an AGP slot so you can just buy a new card...

Recommended: ATI Radeon 9000 or GeForce 4 Ti Series Video Card with 64MB of VRAM

Not always. My mom's, for instance, has onboard video and three PCI slots. No AGP at all.

Fortunately, even if you're stuck with PCI, you'll be able to find a card and get playing bluetongue.gif

It's the same with my comp... I've got a Toshiba laptop, and the graphics card's built in to the... something... so I can't replace it. All I've got is a crappy Alladin thing with 18MB. Bah, same predicament.

Mine worked perfectly with the card I had in, so I really can't help ya here. I'm fairly sure, however, that the great and powerful Geek Squad shall have the answers to all of your porblems.

Yeah, laptops are a tad different.

Still, if you've got a graphics accelerator running off the motherboard instead of an actual video card, the others are right that there should be slots of some kind. If you have the documentation for your motherboard around somewhere, that'd be an easy way to find out. You're probably looking for AGP or PCI slots, I doubt you'd have any PCI-e. If the most you want out of your computer is to be able to play Guild Wars, then it shouldn't be too difficult to pick up a pretty cheap card that would do that just fine, the specs aren't all that demanding.

If your looking to play Guild Wars, I need to need to know how much your willing to spend, the specs of your computer, also the wattage on your power supply. If you need help identifying what kind of slot you have, use this guide from gamespot.

How to Upgrade Your Video Card (Also How to Identify the Expansion Slot You Have)

As Bigbro and Phi had mentioned, you may have or may not have an AGP slot. You will have at least one PCI slot 99% of the time. The best way is to look in your manual or search your computer's detailed specifications. If your computer is prebuilt from a company (which I assume it is), you have a lesser chance of having an AGP slot. If your computer is one of the budget series from that manufacturer, then don't count on having one. If you computer is of a higher tier, you probably will have one. The best advice if you can't figure whether or not you have one: Go with a PCI card.
