thats a good example but the point is... we are an established guild icon_sweatdrop.gif and the amount of time we have been playing we should be doing GvG and PvP i know that me and you have both had this game from the start and we were both in the starting period of DoA and this was about 1 and 1/2 years ago. This should mean we should be able to PvP and GvG but our time-zone problems as a international guild limit us. Even if we recruit e.g. In Europe and American servers the time-zone limits either side of the atlantic and then we have the people in Ocenia who are again hard put to make a show.. what im saying i have never known more than 5 people at once and you need 8 to GvG..
plus there is only.. 2 active european players in this guild and we both would like a break from farming i'm sure (me and groban) biglaugh.gif
Whenever i log i am either on my own or with Groban and this can get depressing when i want to speak to people.

Well, you're right that we're established, however we've mostly kept to ourselves and recruited people we know. To an outsider we wouldn't appear established as far as size or PvP are concerned. That's why we should start recruiting lower levels, so we can work up to that. It wouldn't be long and PvP would become feasible, given that recruiting becomes a focus at the moment.

Personally, I'm more concerned with getting a guild of close friends where we can have fun and do missions/farming together. I'm a lot less concerned about the PvP aspect or the GvG stuff. Granted, I wouldn't mind doing that stuff, but I've always thought of DoA to be a PvE guild.

Yeah, it would be a bad idea to bring in too many at once for that reason. We can still recruit though, when enough members are online. If we welcome the newer members and talk with them some in guild chat, they tend to become accustomed fairly well. As long as we try to maintain the feel we have now, I don't think we'll have any real issues with it.

For these reasons though, we shouldn't advertise as a PvP guild. We don't need to attract the folks that would take GvG too seriously for it hurts the atmosphere.

Most PvP guilds that are successful are only a small group of friends. They don't usually have more than 10-15 active members. A smaller, close-knit guild is much more effective and is ideal, as Alpha pointed out. DoA could be like these guilds, even if we continue on the PvE road. Our only weakness is that we do not have a "fully active" member base that could accomplish the goals we wish to reach.

Well if I have to put my vote down, I'm going for Kurzick. Not because of the Alliance, but I only just realized that Kurzicks are the spiritual faction. Never realized that when I went to explore Luxon. bluetongue.gif

Luxon scenery is real nice though. TheSmile.gif

^^ Thanks Ayumi, you rock!! ^^

Just checking, but does the faction we choose determine whether or not we can access certain towns? Or does it just determine your PvP side and missions?

One and a half years? bluetongue.gif I helped establish the guild and I'm pretty sure it was less than a year ago.

I didn't get to play much of the preview event. I got to do a little bit of Luxon, but I know nothing about Kurzick. The Luxon areas looked cool, but their philosophy didn't really suit me all that well. I'm just going to vote null, since it doesn't bother me too much and I don't really have enough experience to competently answer.

... I agree... definitely we have to clean up inactive members on the guild listings or at least setup proper requirements to at least log in twice a week, to be considered active.

I think we already went over this. grnwink.gif Which is good. But! Best to play in 16 hours and find out firsthand bluetongue.gif.

Well, if the guild's faction only has to do with guild battles, and doesn't dictate the personal faction standings of members, and regardless of faction you can access towns on either side...

I nullify my vote. bluetongue.gif

Heck, if we can still get to the Luxon areas, I may even go Kurzick. We'll see though grnwink.gif

You know, I'm most curious about the four new guild halls. If there is going to be a new vote for guild halls... would it not worth it to check out all four new ones? Not just the two for Kur or the two for Lux?

But Moo, GW was released on April 28, 2005 bluetongue.gif . You're probably thinking when it was in beta (Which my cousin participated in in late 2004/early 2005 but I was too lazy sicka.gif .)
