These are some rules for display names, please keep them in mind or your name change will be reverted. If abused, the ability for you to change your display name can be taken away altogether if necessary. Most of these have been implied in scattered places, but with the new display name feature, it's probably important to pull them all to one thread.

- Your name must not break our general rules (such as nothing obscene).

- Your name can be derived from a site you run (like my name), but it cannot be an obvious attempt at advertising. For example, your display name cannot be a URL, "Go To *Your Site*", or some similar content. Advertising, to a certain realistic extent, can be done in a signature if the site being advertised is appropriate. It can also technically be done in the Cafeteria if it isn't for clan recruiting. For any advertising though, the admins hold the right to remove it if deemed necessary (we haven't yet, but for various reasons we hold this right).

- You cannot have a display name that harms another member. Also, you cannot use a display name to obviously impersonate another member (or try to be mistaken for someone else as a joke). However, it is impossible to take someone else's exact account name or current display name as your own display name.

- This isn't exactly a rule, but you would probably not want to create a temporary joke name. The admins will not freely give out name changes, and this includes changes back to from what you changed (in most circumstances).
