"It was an accident!!" Vash was shouting as a throng of people chased after him.

He had just accidentally killed a man in town for picking on someone else, and the town considered him a murderer. They wanted justice for the life he took.

He approached a cliff about a half mile away fro Torlai, a very steep drop, with a canopy of leaves covering Heaven knows what on the bottomside.

The crowd was closing in very quickly, and if he didn't make a decision soon, he would be dead as a doorknob. The mob approached him and the mans brother came to issue Vasshu his final rites. Before he could speak, however, Vash leapt off the cliff.

Ruckus sat beneath the dense upper foliage, wittling together a campfire...Or...Atleast attempting to.

"C'mon...C'mon!...Light you stupid thing!!! C'MON!" the little neko yiffed out as he wiggled one stick against the other, striking flint and steel, and numerous other myths of getting fires started. When suddenly he heard something crash through the upper tree tops.

"Hmmnnn?!" He inquired wordlessly as he turned to see what all of the hub-bub was. All that he was rewarded with, however, was a rather hefty well equipped man on his back. The little guy yelped and squealed, kicking and squirming beneath the larger male. "Lemme-go lemme-go! HELLLP! RAAAPE!" Poor confused little guy...He had no idea what had just happened. o.o;

"Shut up, their after me!!" Vash screamed at him as he tried to scramble onto his feet. He looked up and saw an arrow flying straight at him. He moved as swiftly as he could and the arrow barely grazed his face. He looked back up, and whispered "Oh... shhhh...".

Immediately thereafter, arrows, sticks, rocks, birds, ad shoes were flying down from the upper cliff. He say the Foxish.. person sitting there with a "What the hell" expression. Looking for cover quickly, he sought a small cave and swiped up the little fellow and dashed into the cave.

"Morons are still after me..."

Ruckus, for the most part, shut the hell up once instructed to. But continued to whine, yiff, and complain as he was carried off. "Well why the hell are you involving meeeheee?! We're gonna die, aren't we?" Why did this sort of thing always happen to him? ><

"You'd be dead if I wasn't onvolving you. Think of this as a small detour to your camping trip, my friend."

Vash peeked out from the small cave. The arrows and various other items had stopped falling. "Think we got 'dat Vash fellow. No more worries for us." Someone from above said.

"Lousy ingrate.." Vash said. "Do all I can for those guys and they turn on me like that... Some people." he turned to Ruckus and glanced at the remains of what would be a campfire. "Eh... Sorry about the fire. I'll help you build another if you need me to." He produced some papers he snatched as he was running from town and gave the to Ruckus.

But.. they're gone now. You should be safe to camp again.

Ruckus, now on his own feet, threw a sassy posture by leaning his weight on one leg. "Hmph...Vash, eh?...Wonder how much information like that goes for...You're a wanted man, Mister Vash? You don't decrease the value of your head by hanging around with me." he giggled, turning and taking a few steps as he messed with his hair cuff. Sliding it free, he'd allow lovely locks of blood red hair to bounce free. Any look of a male seemed to vanish when he did this. "Oh, don't bother. I was building that fire so someone would notice me and tell me where the hell I am...I've been doing some running of my own, Mister Vash. Know of any places we could go to lay low for a while?..." he coo's, straightening out his hair as he slid the cuff back on, returning his hair to a neat pony tail.

"Well.. I'll tell you where you CAN'T go.. Up there on that cliff is the town of Torlai. I'm well known up there. Sort of a.. "Guardian" of the town." he tried to act calm to cover the fact that he had just killed a man.

"Yeah.. they just got tired of me.. Was doing my job too well, I guess. But that's out." I stole a few things when I left, just to try and amplify my exit... But if you want to head back up there and loot the place, that's your business. I'll have no part going back there, lest I leave headless."

Ruckus quipped around, though significantly shorter and more girly, he put on a very stoic face. "You're lying...I take it you don't lie very much. Do you?...Why would someone try to kill you if you 'haven't done your job well'. You let someone die?...You killed someone?....The penalty for a death is a death, you know...Not much else falls under those laws." he avoided the conversation by switching to a different topic, turning about again to show off curvy hourglass backside. ^~ Curvy a bit...-everywhere-. "No...I have no intention of going someplace riddled with crime. I wish to go to a peaceful place. Somewhere relatively safe...I don't care if we hide out together, but it looks like you and I both need a safehouse of some type. Shall we be off?..."

It was all vash could do to keep from decking the poor lad for accusing him of murder... Even though he was correct.

Vash slumped down on a rock and sighed. "Yeah... I killed a guy.. That's why they were all after me. I -WAS- a type of guardian fella.. Someone all the little guys looked up to when someone picked on 'em. I smashed someone in the head too hard and wound up killing him, hence the hellacious mob from above." He could barely keep back tears of sadness, regret, and anger at the mere thought of taking someones life.

"I basically have no place to go.. think it might be alright if I hung around you for a while? Can't hurt to have some companion for whatever you're doing.. Eh?" He tried to be as civil as possible, so as not to come off as a psychotic murderer. "If you say no, I'll understand."

He sighed and buried his head in his hands.

Ruckus listened to all Vash had to say. Ending up leaning on him, seating his plush rump on Vash's shoulder as he pondered. "Well...Then why not redeem yourself?" he'd grin, almost wickedly at the idea. "I'm a little guy, watch out for me. Hehe. C'mon, I'll let you tag along...But...Where should we go now?..." he hrrmed, fiddling with the hilt of his dagger.

"Yeah... As a matter o' fact, I do have place we need to go.. Back in Torlai, I left something in my house. We need to go get it. Fact is, since I left, they probably barred my house up tight. nights coming, though, so we could probably sneak in and grab it."

Vash got a small grin on his fae and a twinkle in his eye.

Maybe we could swipe some other things from some other folks, too...

Ruckus twinkled his own eye. "Hmm...I could always use some new equipment...I say we rest for now and strike just after sunset. That way we'll make an escape in pitch black. We'll need to be sneaky to get to your house...but after we ransack a few places and shops, maybe a bank if you have it, then we should make for a hasty get away...Horses, if they have a stable..."

GM: Evening passes and the sun has set in the west. It is early in the night.

"No stable.. those people were too 'ant-idle'. They walked everywhere they went, and barely ever left the town. So they had no need for horses. But the thing I'm needing is a small charm I used to carry with me. Somewhere in my house, presumably in my room. But be careful, we get caught, the guards will be all over us like bees to honey."

"Don't underestimate the guards. They won't hesitate to beat you into the ground.." He sighed and remembered a punch one of them landed on him when he was being run out. He had a nasty bruise on his left shoulder because of it.

"Think it's time we roll out?"

Ruckus giggled at the ideas that mulled through his mind...that and the feeling of richness in the town above.

"Mmm...If the guards get suspicious...Leave them...To me." he rolled a finger down Vash's chest armor. "Alright...Let's roll. Keep quiet, don't let your buckler clack. Atleast you're not wearing anything shiny..." he murmured as he prepared himself to move out.

Vash held onto his buckler tightly, following Ruckus' instrictions to not let it make a noise. The crept to the gates and snuck into the village unseen and unheard by anyone. Crawling behind a haybail, Vash pointed to a small hut about 50 meters away.

"That. That's my house. We gotta make it there, and all should be good. Nobody else is home right now."

He heard rustling as Ruckus stuck his head out even more. Vash grabbed Ruckus by the tail and yanked him back behind the bail just as two guards walked by.

"Stay hiiiiidddddeeennn!" He whispered as loud as he could, and made a break for another cover spot.
