Research Skills I

This class will teach you some In-Clan research Skills. Nothing in this class relates to anything outside the clan.

To provide some backing information for some needs of change, or some support or evidence for the idea, you should learn to search the forums. First thing, you should learn to use the search tool. Simply type in an idea and see what has been said. That should be your first and main tool. A second tool, is simply combing the forums. Look around the forums for old, forgotten topics at the bottom of the forums. A lot of these provide good quoting information for use in your idea. All researched items found should be quoted, and the person who originally posted this should be added into the quote, like this. “Quote from X Zolon, June 20th 2003: Happy birthday to me!” If you don’t quote it, and it is found somewhere else in the forums, your idea will become invalid, and you will receive one warning and lose ALL your degrees. A third and very powerful tool is to ask a senior member of SeeD for some help. If you want to get the best reaction, try not to present like this: “Hi i like u can u help me i need u tell me dis” a good way to present is to use proper grammar, and make a presence of yourself. You probably want to leave a lasting impression, a good one, on the member. So, present yourself with proper grammar, paragraphs, and sentences. Also, accept any criticism and always say thank you. If you don’t, you could lose the respect of the Higher Ups.

Quiz:
1: What is the first tool you should use when looking for ideas?
2: the second?
3: the third?
4: Why should you quote information?
5: Why is a third tool very dangerous but useful at the same time?
6: Write a two paragraph inquiry about information of a topic here. Choose your own topic. (worth 5 marks)
