Grammar Studies I

This class will teach you basic grammar, such as proper capitalization, paragraphs, and sentences. It is very short and very basic. It will also teach about the three “There”s.

Paragraphs should be indented. They are typically focusing on one topic. They last five to eight sentences. Proper capitalizations are a must. Proper capitalizations should be seen at the start of a sentence, quotation, or on names. Sentences typically consist of a subject and a verb. Verbs are action words. An example of one is run. The subject of a sentence is a noun. The noun is a person, place or thing. A sentence should always start with a capital letter. An example of a noun is “Zolon”. It is capitalized because it is a proper noun. However, you will learn about those in Grammar Studies II.
There are three “there”s. They are “There” “They’re” and “Their”.

There, is referring to something being somewhere, and it is commonly used in sentences like “There it is!” “There they are!” “I have been there.” It is referring to a location. “They’re” is a contraction of “They” and “Are”. It is used in such sentences as “They’re going to the beach again.” “They’re driving to the store.” And “They’re too fast.”. “Their” refers to someone owning something. It is their dog. A really annoying sentence you should practice on is “They’re going over there in their car.”

Correct these sentences and complete the sentences.

1.______ going to there ______ in a car.
2.If they won’t _____ to they’re _____, they will be punished.
3.Their _____ to THEre ______
4.If ___ were to ____ there flying shoes, it would be funny.
5.This test of they’res was boring.
