I went over a few forums on other sites and i saw a topic about it, Most people that posted supported Rugby league and so do i, but when i look at the AFL points it gave me a dillema.

Rugby league and Union is most popular in NSW and QLD and ACT but AFL is popular in the other states, Most of the AFL supporters argue that AFL's has started a starngle hold on NSW and QLD for the swans team and lions, and saying that the Storm in Melbourne for Rugby league is dieing, i completely disagreed with them, they have some sort of stupid thinking that afl will take over the world just because it has an average of 40,000+ attendance to games while NRL has just over 20,000.

But when you look at NSW and QLD, those 2 states together make up more than half the country which is where NRL dominates, yet the crowds are still small, i think because NRL has a lot of competiton from A league (soccer) and the super 14(rugby league) where as the other states has 82% dmoincance by AFL, 96% in Melbourne. Not to be completely biased im not saying AFL is a bad sport, but NRL IS a better game. It even extends to NZ. The fact that AFL got more ratings last year for their Grand final was only because Sydney was in it so naturally the Sydneysiders watched and therefore gave the ratings a huge boost for AFL. NRL's ratings have been gradually staying at level with AFL but hasnt boomed like it did in the 2002 Grand final when Sydney vs NZ, but most people are syaing over the next decade NRL will very drantically increase its popularity and will take over a lot of the industry.
