So like in UK we do Infant School, then junior school, then high school which we finish at 16, then go to college which is usually a year or two, then go to university for like 2-3 years..
So in america im told college is university :S? and you get diplomas for leaving high school and stuff wtf :$?

Elementary School
Kindergarten
1st Grade
2nd Grade
3rd Grade
4th Grade

6th Grade
Middle School
7th Grade
8th Grade
Highschool
9th Grade

Highschool Diploma (Shows that your smart enough not to drop out of highschool.)
College
College is a lot more complicated, depending on what you plan to do with your life. There are 2 year degrees and 4 year degrees (baccalaurate or something). Beyond that, there's graduate school where you can get masters and doctor's degrees (you make a ton of $ with these).

Thats what I have.
PS: Man you UK is awsome. You get out of school early. Usualy in America 16 yrs old is the age when you have the option of droping out of school.

They should seriously change the law to forbid students from dropping out of school. You'd have to be completely retarded to want to do that. If you drop out of highschool, prepare to make minimum wage the rest of your life and live like crap. Stay in school!
They have made it a little better recently. Many schools have raised the drop out age to 18. But think about it, at that age you probably are a senior. Why drop out now?

What we had when I went to school, sir.
Ban dropping out, altogether. Save the kids the heartache and later remorse in life of thinking "Why did I do that?"

Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see.

I know people who dropped out of school at 16 to take building and plumbing apprenticeships, and they're enjoying themselves more than when they were in school. This migh tnot be the case in America, but if they banned dropping out in NZ, this country would go to hell (further to hell, I mean).

i dont see how ppl in the UK get a propper education in my opinion if you end school at 16. inless you start at an age earlier then 5.
Because you get your GCSE results and stuff which im told america dont do, isnt hard to get a decent education anyway and most stay on to sixth form or go to college anyway. Just many decide to stop at 16 and go into apprentiship

Start when you're 15/16, you can either go two years and go into apprenticeship, go 3 years with the last year just building the theory classes, or do two years and the last one later.
Then a diploma.
Then something called "High school", if you do something which can be built on, like music, and if further , university after that.
I hope you don't mind that I copied a bit off of yours, Alpha.

Most people do start before the age of 5. I started school at 4 after being in nursery for a year, where you do learn a little.
And many people now are choosing to stay on past 16 or go to collage.
