Jake's a little boy who was practically famous in Louisiana died this afternoon.
He had many brain tumors and was in St. Jude's Children's Research hospital for a few years. He's been through so much pain, many surgeries, and has had the support of nearly the entire south US. He passed on at 3:10 today.
He earned his well deserved angel wings.

His mother was the flower girl at my parents wedding. His aunt bought property from my dad and turned it into the "Melanie Massey Physical Therapy" Center.
My parents tell me his parents wuold find it a bittersweet end. Because for one, their child has passed away. But they're happy for him, because they know he's not hurting anymore.
A little story that actually made me cry, IRL. A few weeks ago, Jake was in St. Judes, and he was so incredibly sick. he was heaving from nausea for over 15 minutes, and even the strongest drug "Adavan" couldn't calm him. He was looking at his dad, asking with his eyes "Can't you do anything?".
His aunt started to cry, but his mother moved her out of his line of view and demanded "Don't you let him see you cry. Don't let him know anything is wrong. Don't give him a reason to worry." Because she couldn't bare the thought to have anymore stress on him.
I must word this carefully. I'm not glad he's dead, I'm not glad he's gone. But I am glad he's at a place where he doesn't hurt anymore.

Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see.
