I've decided to quit, and protest. I'll probably not come back till they update the duel arena with no cash limit, since staking I've noticed is the only thing I actually enjoy in the game.

I'd play on RSC if my account wasn't banned for "password scamming." GF Jagex.

Bounty Hunter (tried it on Faren a few days ago, got ko'd by some clan)
Future 1v1 update (i heard about how it would work, it sucks.)

Point is: if you're not having fun, why keep at it? Wait a while for updates and stuff. If you want to come back, then come back. If you don't, then don't. Have fun during your leisure time.

R.I.P. figuratively, I suppose then. Because you have to admit, any highly populated area (At least from what I've personally speculated) has truly gone to the septic tank. I can honestly say that RuneScape now has one of the worst average community of any place I've been. For heavens sakes, *chans have better communities than RuneScape.

However, I believe that Xmadole mislabeled the problems with the RuneScape community as a whole. Surely many of the updates held a grand deal in terminating any credibility that Jagex and RuneScape individually and collectively may have once had, but the other set of problems stems from the very real and very true fact that:

1) Jagex is VERY selective about who they listen to. In other words, they do not connect well with their own community. They show great amounts of bias and selectivity through members through their popularity rating. A real world example would be a lesser popular kid in school that gets firmly reprimanded for an accidental mistake, compared to a wholly popular kid that willingly commits an offense, only to be slapped on the wrist. Jagex does not know how to handle the public. This causes distrust between community members and administration.

2) Jagex is very wishy washy. More so than Kerry in the 2004 elections. For much of the time, they will strongly advise one set of rules, but when it comes down to actually enforcing that rule (With few exceptions), they will back off and only work with what can probably be done without causing much of an uproar. They let their players dictate what happens in the game in severe cases.

3) They don't THINK. Honestly, Jagex has great intentions with each thing they add to the game, yet their foresight is minimal, if existent at all. They do not think how certain objects will affect the community later on. And, if an update proves to be detrimental to the community, they will change it -after- its release, causing people who have been negatively affected by it to lose their regard for the company.

4) Same old song and dance from Res. The Jagex customer support team is shoddy at best. You have a few qualified (And respectably wonderful people) that head up the CS team, but the rest of them can be widely regarded as incompetent dipwads. The few members that lead are fantastic. if they were able to pass their abilities to the other members of the CS team, you would see satisfaction.

5) TOO MANY UPDATES. Jagex updates... how often? Once? Twice? three times a month? Once a week? Think now. You have developers (Developers developers developers) working for NEW AND EXCITING aspects to add to the game.

Why can't those same Developers (*clap*Developers*clap*developers*clap*developers) work to improve already existing parts of the game? Brand spanking new doesn't always mean better. There are parts of the game that seem quite rusty and could especially use some hard thinking and spit shine.

In essence, Xmadole, I agree with you. Which is why for the most part, I would greatly like to revoke my modship. After seeing many of the injustices within the moderator community itself, and realizing how corrupt it can truly be, I have washed my hands of the game (...) entirely.
