I have a strange fascination with card games. All except Pokeymans.

Yu-Gi-Oh satisfied me for a while, until I grew up a bit and the only people that participated in B-A-M tournaments were either 10 or didn't shower.

So, a few days ago, a friend introduced me to Magic. Which, I've only just leanred how to play during my lunch shift at school. I'd play more often, but I realize games take much longer than Yu-Gi-Oh games. O.o
I've been playing with a Critical Mass deck that uses Red and Black cards. I've played against a friend that uses a White and Green deck. I've tied one game with him, and he's beat me once.

So, my question(s):

Does anyone here play/own cards
Has anyone ever played/owned cards
If you do/did, what deck was it (Color based)
And if you don't, why did you quit?

And BTW, no comments are needed on how card games are immature. We've had plenty of people ridicule us for playing enough, we don't need anymore. bluetongue.gif
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see.

Card games are immature *cough*.. C'mon, y'knew someone was going to say it out of spite bluetongue.gif Might as well of been me.

I've always had a curiosity to play card games, yet I don't exactly have the social link that would supply me with people that knew how to play it (at least without forcing to merge with kiddies and their pokeymans). The lack of social gathering over here coupled with the fact that I couldn't really afford to spend loads on setting myself up means that I never really had/have a chance to learn.

I've collected a few different types of cards, but I've never actually sat down and played against someone with them =S

We've been playing with a normal deck of cards at school (during lunch break bluetongue.gif), mainly just thirteen, sevens or the occasional Hold 'em game. Reeaaaally fun ^_^

Thing that drives me for more of this type of game is the way it makes you think. How it makes you strategize certain moves and how you play your cards. Rolling dice to determine an outcome, or just all out barraging with mathemetized calculatory equationations. bluetongue.gif

Blaaah, I'm SO not patient enough to play those kinds of games; even though I love strategy/math/thinking games =S

I finally went and bought the two-player starter set thingy a few years ago.

Right around the time everyone I knew switched to Yu-Gi-Oh!.

It was at that point that I gave up on CCGs.

tabletop wargames > card games

u nubz

I used to play pokemon when it was cool, and I play with a normal deck of cards everyday at school. I see people playing with Magic cards, but it just looks like it takes a long time to learn how to play, so I have never really bothered.

M:tG is actually pretty easy to pick up on; strategy is the harder part.

My brother became obsessed with it while he was around 15 (he's 21 now) and it eatred his life for a while, so he said that if he ever found any of the cards or anything, he'd destroy them somehow (like turning them into a smoothie in the blender! ^^). So I lost any interest I had in it before I started bluetongue.gif

Don't do card games drugs. Stay in school!

Magic is addicting. I'll warn you now.
Yes, I do play.
- I own my own deck. I'm working on it. Mercadian Masques white rebel deck. I'm not the greatest player, but I could probably do some decent games once I finish with this deck
HI! I'M BACK SPORADICALLY! Nobody probably remembers me :(
