Log Entry 001:

We have departed from Arcturus 5 and entered into an artificial inertial void. When we exited, we found ourselfs in an unexplored region of space in another galaxy. We scanned the nearby systems and discovered a suitable planet to build our civilization on. The planet was lush with vegetation and animalia, but no sentient life was detected. The planet was named Apyon and was givin the title of "New Regulus." The reminants an ancient tomb of an important being was located. We are currently investigating the ruins.

Log Entry 002:

The ruins we discovered contained several hostile magical statua. After defeating them, we uncovered not a person's remains, but a powerful energy weapon made by a being known as Xavis Severum. After obtaining this weapon, all traces of magical seals preventing our technology from working had vanished. We have decided to set up a base camp on this site.

Log Entry 003:

Upon further exploration of surrounding territory, we came across a very strange material. This material is a very dark purple in color, almost indistinguishable from black. We have named it Obsidianite and started researching the properties hoping to find some use for it. The outer perimeter of the camp is secure and we have all the necessary personal and equipment to begin construction of a new city tomorrow. The refugees will arrive in 6 months time.

Log Entry 004:

The Obsidianite was actually an ore containing a 'dissolved' liquid material with properties unlike anything we've ever seen. We aren't even sure is dissolved is an appropriate term to use, as the liquid seems to be trapped within cages of the ore. When extracted, the liquid is extremely volatile and corrosive. We've also noticed some mutagenic effects on nearby lifeforms. We have decided to create a research lab in a remote corner of the planet to better study this material in a safer environment. We've selected a very rocky precipice on a small island off the coast of the southern continent.

Log Entry 009:

The new lab is complete and has begun research on the obsidianite. We are learning a great deal about this strange material and are already concieving some very advanced military applications for it.

Log Entry 036:

The Obsidianite ore on this planet has been exhausted and our attempts to replicate it have all failed. While we have learned a great deal, we cannot hope to continue our research without more ore. We have begun searching nearby systems for further traces.

Log Entry 68: A new deposit of the ore has been located on a planet in a nearby system. The ore there is in great quantity, and much of it is being transported here for storage and study. Hopefully it will be sufficient in quantity to allow us to solve this puzzel and learn to reproduce it artificially.

Log Entry 94: A startaling breakthrough has been made! One of our top scientists successfully interprited the obsidianite as a highly complex equation only explainable in advanced theoretical mathematics. The stuff we thought was the liquid trapped inside the cage was actually the warped viscous shadow of the substance, which was a thin layer lining the cage itself. This raises even more questions about the nature of this strange material, but we are confident that this step will help us solve them all.

Log Entry 102: Much has been learned of the ore in the last week. We have learned to manipulate the strange 'shadowfield' and have noticed some interesting characteristics of the inside of the field. The strange liquid like substance is actually some type of magnetic field that is somehow opposed to electromagnetic radiation. In other words, this is the very opposite of light. This is physical darkness, and when it comes into contact with light, it annihilates with seemingly no effect.

Log Entry 126: Another breakthrough! One of our scientists managed to invert this strange field and switch the Obsidianite inside out. The effect of which was incredible; the new substance actually repulsed all matter away from itself. This new material was given the name Oblivionite, aand has the potential to revolutionize the way we fight wars.

Log Entry 133: We have successfully manipulated the Oblivionite field to conform perfectly with any given shape we want. In essence, we can fold the shadowfield around an object so perfectly, that we can make a superthin layer of Oblivionite Armor such that it will deflect any attack. Currently such a piece of armor is being developed for testing.

Log Entry 147: The armor was successful against all attacks except those that are light-based. Unlike Obsidianite, the Oblivionite isn't annihilated by any known ligh-based attacks. They simply go right through it. Our leader hasn't been able to attain any skyrite to test against it, though it is believed that would result in annihilation of the armor. We have also tested the Oblivionite as a weapon edge. We created a field that would split nuclear bonds in a fountain-like manner, which makes the weapon perfect for armor penetration.

Log Entry 200: A full set of armor and a super-powerful weapon have been crafted with the Oblivionite. We are sending out a well-qualified soldier to test this out in real combat. The soldier's name is Pronexia. She will head to Earthia on a mission to defeat a powerful hawk-demon in the shadowed ruins region. This demon has plagued our efforts on Earthia and we have so-far been unable to defeat it. This will be the ultimate test...
