I just think it would be cool to get that section filled up a little more. I don't know about the space issues though; other sites seem to do it okay.

Is the music in the downloads section only from FF VIII? If so I can put music in from the others games, along with the videos I'm making (eventually). I'm like, an FF fanatic now, and I've never played the games.
I could also try getting music up from other games, too (maybe ones we have factions in?).

Indeed, I've been thinking about doing that. As a general policy though, I won't usually add downloads that members provide to that section. While there are many members who I trust, it's safest for our users if the download section is not open to submissions at this moment. Instead, though, I am fully open to suggestions.
As for videos, they would probably be better on a video site. That way users can view the vids in their browser instead of having to manually download and open the files.
I originally intended for the primary use of the download section to be for software that I want to put out there, but midi files are easy to zip up and make available as well. They're not a common request, but when I have the chance I plan to stick more in there. If I do, they'll be grouped as soundtracks (of a sort) like the files already available. Final Fantasy VII is probably next since I did get a few requests for it, but if anyone has other suggestions, feel free to ask.

Yep, that was my intention after our convo over it (I'll use YouTube). Will those links to videos be going in the Downloads section or the Submissions section? (I can't recall if that was decided already.) I didn't know if the videos should be kept separate from the text-based submissions by putting it along with the music, even if it isn't a direct download.

Neither would really work unfortunately.
Links and text can't exactly be placed in the download section, it's only for managing downloads located on our server. It wouldn't physically work otherwise.
While it would physically work in the submission area, unlike the download area, having documents up there with nothing but a link isn't really the proper use of the section. It's intended for text-centered submissions such as guides, and not really as a makeshift thing for organizing links.

I'm not made of bandwidth so stop asking.
I hate video sites. They take forever to load and slow my computer down.

Well, I could include all information behind the video within the submittion.
Such as, the song title, who's it by, lyrics, dedications, credits, my own comments, and whatever else applies. Your choice though of course.
I shouldn't have one done for a decent while, so there's time to work something out. I do hope to get at least one music video done by Christmas, as a gift of a sort.

After discussing it with Cspace via IM, he suggested I just keep a pinned thread for the start of it, so I'm good with that idea. It'll probably be in Creativity once I get the first video done.
