I was just watching the new X-Men movie, when I got a great idea for a new profession. Check it out!

Juggernaut:

The Juggernaut is a strange class that wear very heavy armor and use their bodies and shields as weapons. The Juggernaut will start running 90% slower for the first few seconds, then to 60% for a few more seconds, then 30% after a few more seconds, then to normal running speed, then to the maximum speed allowed by your attribute skills in momentum. While in motion, the Juggernaut can do two things. It can collide with a foe or group of foes and do damage or inflict conditions, or it can activate an Aura and continue running around. Auras effect targets adjacent to the user, but only when the user is in motion. When still, the Juggernaut can attack with its large shields.

Momentum (Primary): For each rank your maximum running speed is increased by 3% and your speed building time is shortened.

Shield Mastery: Increase the damage and effectiveness of shield strikes and shield-based skills.

Collision Arts: Increases the damage and effectiveness of collision skills.

Aura Magic: Increase the damage and effectiveness of aura magic skills.

I'm gonna think up some funny skills for this, but I actually think this is a great idea for an expansion profession. Maybe I should give the folks over at ArenaNet a buzz.

Bad idea as a whole, it will slow down groups that have to stop to fight monsters because afterwards they will be waiting for their party's Juggernaut to "catch up" to a "normal speed."

Also this will take all the point out of Warriors because if Juggernauts are meant to be big huge tanks who have large shields, then Warriors will become obsolete in tanking power if the Juggernaut is more powerful and has higher armor/better abilities to tank.

Also that's quite a bit of coding, all these skills activating and and reacting as an AoE WHILE running around... No mean to shoot you down but ANet is too lazy to try and code something like that. They're already making the graphics even more worse because they take up even more memory dues to inefficient coding.

Good intent, needs revision.

Yeah, I can see a few problems with it, and some points I didn't clearly make. The Juggernaut would have skills that allow it to run faster from the start, and it wouldn't litterally take seconds to get the momentum going. I suppose it would involve a new type of skill that can be activated while in motion. Again, this would require some good coding, but it can be done. The aura skills wouldn't bee too hard. They can do the same thing that causes the aggro to work.

Bulldozer
Aura Skill
15-1-30
For 10...20 seconds any adjacent foe is knocked down while you remain in motion.

Basically, you start gaining momentum and cast this spell while running. Any foe that you run into will be knocked down in much the same way as any foe you run close enough to, you'll aggro. In other words, these skills will be like tiny aggro circles around you that trigger certain effects when foes get within a very close range. It wouldn't be difficult to code this at all. The only challenge is maybe making it so you can activate these skills while running.

The real reason AreaNet would love this is because it is already nerfed to death with all the darn anti-running spells they put in. Cripple, Speed-Reduction, traps, and knockdowns could really slow these guys down. Maybe a skill or two that negates these effects could keep them alive.

The Juggernaut I suppose could be an equal tank to the Warrior, but I doubt it would be better. They'd probably have the same armor rating, but the Juggernaut would be moving. Tanks are meant to absorb damage, whereas Juggernauts are too busy running around and bashing things. Warriors can do some pretty good damage while tanking, but juggernauts won't be able to hit as hard, as the shield mastery wouldn't do as much damage, and it would be a very slow attack.

But if your damage relies on momentum and you get ganked with water magic... they are going to be hitting like a elementalists wand... crappily... and it would take all the monsters away from the group... which would lead to jug dying as even warriors cant take on huge groups and no-one will want jugs in there groups... similar to mesmer and ranger discrimination...
if he starts at 90% speed and gets hit with deep freeze roffle isnt that like 140% and he wouldnt even be able to move basically. actually he wouldnt be able to move....

wouldn't a warrior have the advantage of speed?
