Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.

I think I can appreciate it because of the situations I've been in and experienced. Which is what usually happens to people when they read things like that. It either reminds them of things they've gone through and makes them appreciate it.
Or it doesn't remind them and they hate it, making them shallow and callous.
