This weekend I bought the Chronicles of Narnia series. I read one of the books, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" in elementary school. I also read part of "The Horse and His Boy" in middle school, and that is the one I'm currently reading. Has anyone else read this series (other than Jonny bluetongue.gif )? I find it well done as C.S. Lewis wrote it in the style of LOTR. It has many similarities, especially in the writing style as I have mentioned (actually, Lewis and Tolkien were members of the same writing club). The 7 books in the series, in order, are:
  • The Magician's Nephew
  • The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
  • The Horse and His Boy
  • Prince Caspian
  • The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
  • The Silver Chair
  • The Last Battle

EDIT: L.W.W. is being made into a movie, which is the be released in America on December 9. You can check out the movie's site and find links to info about the other books here.

Yeah those books are so good for light reading. TheSmile.gif

The Magician's Nephew is cool because it's like the intro however The Last Battle is just plain wierd. eek7.gif

I read all these books back in Primary School... my fav's are probably The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and possible either The Magician's Nephew or Voyage of the Dawn Treader. thumb.gif

Can't wait to see the movie! biglaugh.gif

actualy:
in cronological order:

The Magician's Nephew
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe :: The Horse and His Boy (these happen simotaniously)
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Last Battle

and:
the order they where writen/published in:

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
Prince Caspian(1951)
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
The Silver Chair (1953)
The Horse and His Boy (1954)
The Magicians Nephew(1955)
The Last Battle (1956)

either way, i love these books. favorite being TLTWATW (first one) prince caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and The Last Battle. never liked the siver chair, was to scary for me when i was little, and the magicians nephew was kinda dark at the start, so i never realy liked it as much.
sooooooo looking forward to the movie, evidently they intend to make a movie of each, like with LOTR (gona be goooooood)

I finished all those ages ago! They're still some of my favorite books. I really loved "The Horse and His Boy," "The Magician's Nephew," and "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader." The end of "The Last Battle" is a fitting end to the series.

I read them back in late elementary/early junior high school along with an ungodly amount of other classics.

I really don't remember that much about them though.
