Although I can't say I understand why our drinking age is higher than the age we can smoke, join the military, vote, etc., but that's beside the point.

I'm fairly sure that it's not just in pubs/bars/restaurants/wherever... even in the privacy of home, with parental approval, it's not allowed.
Which is incredibly stupid. :-\
(For some reason, very few of my friends drink, and all of them drink responsibly, including those who're underage. The rest of us either haven't bothered with it or don't like the taste )

Yep... ALL europeans do that.
Uh huh...
In America most people start drinking way before 21.
And so many americans are obeese because of
cheap food
cheap gasoline (compared to europe)
We can't travel 10ft without jumping into a car and driving

"I'm a man hear me roar".... never mind >_>
I WILL EAT THIS MEAT! Untill my in-y turns into an out-y!
Anyways, No one really cares about the age limits anymore, I've seen policemen give their underaged children free access to their liquor cabinet, while they're off at work.
I'd put the blame on the all these shops and stores sprining up, I can walk like 2 blocks to go to a corner store, and then like 1 more to a plaza with a mini-malls, Popeyes, Churches, Bill Millers, Sonic, Dairy Queen, and McDonalds. In the past, the trouble was getting the food, now it's the trouble of which drive-thru you want to go to.

It sure doesn't. I think if they had no drinking age, then less people would drink because they wouldn't have to break the law. I'm a teetotaler myself, but I still think there shouldn't be an age limit (there should be a BAL limit, though).

Yes they do, it's 16.
they do? i know someone who is much much younger than that and had at least a few sips of beer in Germany without getting in trouble with the law for it.
i think he was in a beer hall or a festhuas or whatever, a place that would notice if you were drinking underaged.
