Skills:
Grenths Grasp (Elite Wind Prayers)
Seeking Arrows (Marksmanship)
Scavenger Strike (Beast Mastery)
Focused Shot (Marksmanship)
Pious Restoration (Wind prayers)
Charm Animal (Beast)
Comfort Animal (Beast)

Weapon:
Anything Cold

Usage:
This is another support build. Not meant to hit hard, so much as prove useful in situations where you need to play keep away. Cast Grenth's Grasp, an elite spell where cold damage dealed by you causes crippling. Seeking arrows is to ensure that you will hit, even if they use a blocking move. Now the part that most people will dislike, it takes an attack skill to cause the crippling. So with Focused Shot, you have a short recharge low energy attack to cause crippling with.

In terms of the other skills, you can use most anything. I posted it with beast due to the Scavenger strike ability causing extra damage on an opponent with a condition. And your pet is an additional way to keep them from getting close. This can be used to keep warriors from getting to your squishies. And since you apply conditions quickly, it will be hard for monks to keep up with removals.

Downsides:
They heal themselves. Thats fine, this is more a support build anyways. Or just one meant to annoy people. if you feel you must, take out seeking arrows and use distracting shot to prevent this problem if they use a longer casting heal.

Possible Places to Use
Moddok Crevice. Stupid Runners. bluetongue.gif

Build Motto
If you can't kill them, annoy them long enough for someone else to do the job.

Interesting idea for a build, although as you say it's mostly an annoyance. I could see it being quite useful in certain situations, but fairly inconsequential the rest of the time. It might be better to have this as part of a build. The important skills in this build are Grenth's Grasp, and a bow attack to activate it. The rest is just survival, or adding more functionality to the basic build concept. I would suggest expanding its usefulness in other situations. You could take along an interrupt or two, maybe a different preparation or some other conditions. You can get the effect of Seeking Arrows without having to waste a skill slot by taking a bow attack that can't be blocked, I'd suggest Called Shot. You'll do a little less damage, but it's fast, cheap and less likely to miss a moving target. You know Ranger tactics and skills considerably better than I do so I'll leave the details as to what to combine it with up to you.

As a complete alternative, a reasonable amount of points in Wind Prayers and Harrier's Grasp would allow you to cripple enemies with any bow attack, not just attack skills (without even having to have a cold weapon). You can't quite have it running constantly, but the crippling lasts long enough that you should be able to have it back up in time to reapply the condition.

Pfft, those Moddok runners are pretty easy. Don't bother with crippling, just take some snaring hexes. Anyone with mesmer, elementalist or assassin primaries/secondaries can do this exceptionally well without having to pump many points into any attribute, and they have no way of removing it. Shadow stepping is also quite effective, something like Dark Prison would be good if you're confident you can get a kill quickly enough afterwards.

Yeah, as I said, I just made it beast to have something else. All you really need is the Grenths grasp. And I agree, not useful most of the time, but it can be used. Just letting ideas flow from me head like water from a melon.

Hey, could you possibly do a build that uses death magic's virulence elite to do some awesome condition damage?

Off the top of my head, couple of ideas.

Feral Lunge to cause bleeding, then use virulence so you get bleeding as well as poison disease and weakness, and then your pet will last longer against a weakened opponent and you can fight that way.

Alot of ways you could use it. Sounds like fun to think of some.

fragility = maxed i cant think of the attribute im doing coursework at the moment
spike damage because of short condition duration
