The current standing of Guild Wars? Nightfall and whatnot, isn't it? How many people here are active in it? How many folks are playing it?

I'm pretty much certainly getting GW2 when it's released, as well as a good few of IRL friends, and I want to get back into it before the next game so I have an idea to know what to do, even though the second won't be coming out for a -while-.

I've got some cash to spend. Should I go pick up Nightfall?
And by "go pick up", I mean download off Steam.

Nightfall is perhaps my favorite of all the campaigns, so I would recommend it greatly. Not sure what you're after, but its a good one to choose. Decent length, some interesting skills and classes, and good bonus content. I know I am semi active, and I spend a decent amount of time in NF, I guess. I kind of lurk in all the campaigns. But almost everyone has NF, and most enjoy it enough you'd find part members to go with.

I'm active in bursts. I'll go a couple weeks without playing, then go three or four hours in a night. I've only got Prophecies, but aim to pick up the other three parts before GW2 comes out. Probably Nightfall/EotN/Factions in that order, since I've heard Factions is the least fun of them for non-PvPers like me.

DoA isn't totally dead, though when I play I'm usually the only one online (with 10-20 others showing as active in the last week). And I dunno about the newer parts of the game but there are still plenty of people online in Prophecies.
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

Excellent. I bought a copy of GW: Trilogy on steam for my girlfriend, and for myself. So we can jump in and get used to the mechanics of the game to have -some- idea of what to expect for GW2. We'll start with prophecies and move to nightfall, since factions left me unimpressed. ._.;

Thanks for letting me know some people are still alive here.
